how about 'Toni Storm requests release from popular multi faceted media and entertainment conglomerate' Toni Storm wasn’t hired by Disney, though, so that’d be a lie. She can fit in a Marvel movie, surely...

I dunno, Joey Ryan and David Starr did a pretty good job of it. Also Jimmy Havoc is like... a delivery driver now. Wouldn't call Marty's Puerto Rican Exodus a really good place to be either. Obviously Toni is gonna be fine, but outside of really scummy or low rent Indies, I think getting blackballed can end a wrestlers immediate career if it's hard enough. There is something to be said about the fact that it took those 3 effectively leaving the industry of their own volition to convince anyone they were gone for good. The only 2 people I think got permanently chased out are Dave Crist and Scott Wainwright. Well David Starr did try to get back in with that twitter rant about how he had suffered enough like he was in actual prison or something, then there was that time a promoter tried to sneak Ryan on a card for Mania weekend and the second people got wind of it, Khan pulled AEW talent from the show and it basically collapsed on itself, and then Ryan was pulled from said show as well.

And Scrull snuck in on a 4th tier German promotion (basically, not wXw, Revolution or that one Alpha Female owns).

Wonder should the title of the thread change since she wasn't actually released but quit? Not unless she played Vince's head like a bongo.

It wouldn't surprise me if over half the Women's Rumble is made up of NXT or retired superstars.

It wouldn't surprise me if over half the Women's Rumble is made up of NXT or retired superstars. They are going to have to. When you take out Becky and Charlotte that leaves by my count just 15 women for Raw and Smackdown combined. Granted we could have some returns in Asuka, Alexa, Bayley, and Lacey but the staus of all of them are unknown. They should really consider maybe experimenting tweaking the format at least for this year. I think the best way to go would be dropping it down from 30 to 20 and making intervals longer. Maybe back up to two minutes like the real early Rumbles. Would make the match just as long so then they can eat up the PPV time they have, make it easier with how depleted the women's roster is instead of having to resort to using half a field on legends and NXT people, and also would be good for preventing Covid risks as with the longer intervals it would make it easier to spread the eliminations where there would be less people in the ring. Even though it isn't as necessary with the men I would drop there's down to 20 too to avoid the uproar.

One of my favorite things about the Royal Rumble are surprise wrestlers from the past. The women's seems to invite the same people back a lot, though (Kelly Kelly, Torrie Wilson, etc). I would never want less than 30 in a Rumble.

So that’s 19 when you take out the champions. Pretty safe assumption that at least 2 of Alexa, Asuka, Lacey, Bayley will be back by then (most likely the first 2) so that’s 21 women. If you’re using NXT and past stars then that’s plenty. In fact, there’s enough to still have women’s title matches at the show.

Too much. Also what new legends can they use? When you keep having to use the same surprises (Beth, Molly Holly, Torrie, Kelly Kelly etc.) they aren't really surprises anymore and it just comes off as desperate and makes them look kind of bad. Like our roster is so weak and lame that we keep having to trot these old women from the past every year. Also who are the two active women I'm missing? Raw 1. Bianca 2. Liv 3. Rhea 4. Nikki 5. Carmella 6. Zelina 7. Doudrop 8. Dana 9. Tamina Smackdown 1. Sasha 2. Shayna 3. Shotzi 4. Naomi 5. Natalya 6. Aliyah Those are just going by women who should be locks in that they are the only full time wrestlers. I guess I'm assuming Sonya is one of them but I wouldn't say she's a sure thing since she's not an active competitor anymore.

I think I posted in this thread or another one recently that every Women’s Rumble has used at least 10-15 NXT/Legends as spots and the matches are generally well-received. And there are plenty of interesting women from the past they can use, in addition to great NXT talent. There’s even “known” NXT talent like Mandy. Sonya, Xia Li, Maryse are the ones missing.

You also might have to factor in the women’s champion being in action and the title being on the line, which takes an additional two women out. I say this because the champions have been in action practically every year. 2021: Sasha Banks vs Carmella; Asuka/Charlotte vs Shayna/Nia 2020: Becky Lynch vs Asuka; Bayley vs Lacey Evans 2019: Asuka vs Becky Lynch; Ronda Rousey vs Sasha Banks

Carmella for instance had the title match against Sasha last year but then was also in the Rumble as well. Becky obviously was in the 2019 Rumble too although there was an angle attached to that. I guess it depends on who the losers of the title matches are. It seems like if they are faces or someone high on the card they try to avoid it because it will make them look bad to lose twice. I think they would be only be willing to do it with comedy figure heel types like a Carmella where isn't going to hurt her heat or character to look weak like that. Both champions are heels right now and are going to be champs at the Rumble (sorry Liv) and I don't see either losing at the Rumble either as the plan seems obvious that both Becky and Charlotte are going to hold them until Mania where they drop them to Bianca and Sasha respectively. That means there is going to be two babyface title match losers although I don't know who those are going be either which again goes back to there lack of depth. I guess maybe Rhea for Raw and I have no clue for Smackdown. All they have for faces is Sasha who is being saved for Mania, Naomi who is the Sonya Deville feud, and Ailiah who is nowhere near ready for a PPV title match. I don't see them trotting out a babyface title loser back out for the Rumble if they aren't winning which would take two more people out of the match although with how desperate they are for bodies maybe they will this year just out of necessity.
