Yet the Renegade managed to keep his job for three years despite being portrayed as an Ultimate Warrior clone? And I suppose Eric Bischoff didn’t want masked tag teams like Los Conquistadors or the Killer Bees on his roster because some kid would think they looked exactly alike. Okay then…

Okay then… K but none of those people were Hulk Hogan. Don't Hassle the Hulk!

Dave Sullivan looked an awful lot like the Huckster parody the WWF was using to mock Hogan's age as part of the Billionaire Ted crap, so I can legit see this being something that would trigger Hogan's ego once it was pointed out to him.

Kevin could be in an airplane hurtling towards the ground, out of fuel, and he'd still be kayfabing everyone on board. I wouldn't take anything he says terribly seriously.

Kevin Sullivan looked more like Hulk Hogan than his brother did.

Wasn’t Dave’s gimmick that he was a Hulk Hogan fan though??

Kevin Sullivan looked more like Hulk Hogan than his brother did. Which isn't surprising. Despite being short, he was a "body guy" when he was younger and considerably more ripped than most of the territory dudes, even if he wasn't a freak like Billy Jack Haynes, for instance. Even if Billy Graham was probably the number one inspiration for Hogan on adopting that kind of presentation, there is a pretty high chance Sullivan had been on his radar, too, when he was breaking in. Bit of irony, that, given their later rivalry.

This. You look at it and it seems ridiculous, and then you remember it's f***ing Hulk Hogan and begin to look at it differently.

Maybe they did ask that of him, or maybe they just decided to get rid of him. He'd been in WCW for like 3-4 years, and was just not really any good. WCW was slashing and burning a lot of guys as it was, so he made a lot of sense as someone to axe, regardless.

Dave Sullivan only did the Hulkamaniac fan gimmick until spring 1995 then went into that rehashed Savage/Steele storyline with DDP and Kimberly, after that feud ended he just had a midcard feud with Big Bubba Rogers over Bubba being allergic to Ralph the rabbit. So if Hogan had him fired over looking like him he at least let him stay through 1995

Dave Sullivan looking like Hogan was a big part of his gimmick for a while as he dressed like him and was allied with him. So obviously Hogan and the decision makers were well aware of it before this stooge apparently told them. Also not to sound like a jerk as Dave was apparently a really nice guy but would Hogan seriously be threatened by him in any way? He was an extremely limited wrestler and probably the worst on their roster at the time. I think Kevin is full of crap on this one.

He kept standing behind Hulk, triggering Hulk's paranoia of getting rolled up.

I really think Kevin has been around so long and been dropped on his head. He gets storylines confused for stuff that happened behind the scenes.
