With Mickie James in the Rumble, could we see more Impact wrestlers in the WWE in the future or vice versa? Or is this just a way to mend fences with Mickie (and perhaps get a HOF spot sooner than later)?

With the company probably being sold this year, I think it was just to mend fences with Mickie James.

I don’t think much will come from this, especially considering WWE’s own history with playing with others.
As I said in other parts, I think WWE needed vets and names for the Rumble considering they fired a lot and let some of them go so went to Mickie, who had the advantage considering last year so she said they’d have to put over Impact and her being the Knockouts champion and that’s it.
WWE get more experience for the match, Mickie get a big payday whilst under contract for another company and Impact gets a mention on network TV. Nobody loses here.

They needed bodies for the Rumble because they released so many people in 2020 and 2021. They probably wanted Mickie and asked Impact if they could book Mickie for the Rumble, and Impact said they could. I doubt there is going to be an ongoing relationship. WWE just didn't want the women's Rumble to have fewer participants than the men's Rumble. They already have to fill it out with people from the past, some of whom didn't really have all that memorable runs in WWE.

It is worth noting that Impact allowed Flair at the Hall of Fame ceremony and Christian appeared at an Impact PPV while IC champion, so there have been some limited talent negotiations between them before.

That was also because Impact was suing WWE for contract infringement and that was part of the settlement.

I could see this being nothing more than a one off before she's announced for the HoF.
I could also see this being Nick Kahn trying to prove that WWE can do this too after he was allegedly knocked back on some other deals, so I'd not be surprised to see some other limited exchanges.

This is pretty cool. If they ever did more with Impact ( which I don't see happening ) they would have to try really hard to make Impact look as bad on screen as AEW made them look.
Kudos to Impact for mastering the forbidden door.

This is definitely a make good for the trash bag incident, and Mickie compromised for her home promotion getting some plugs.
They released so many women for no reason that it wouldn't shock me if they begged Mickie to be in it and she had some sway over the decision for that and the trashbag incident on top of that.
Dont expect anything else to come from this, not as long as Vince is alive, he has too much dumb pride.

Stephanie and HHH seemed genuinely pissed at the trash bag incident so I can see them wanting to make good with Mickie. I’d expect her to have a strong showing. I don’t think Impact would agree to their champion coming in and getting eliminated in 30 seconds like a jobber.

Nah, this is just WWW being gracious and letting Mickie compete in the Rumble to pay tribute to her childhood friend, Betty White.

I am interested to see what Impact got in return...I assume they got their pick of getting any woman within reason to appear on their show in return for Mickie showing up at the rumble and possible HOF induction.
And it purely assumption they would get a female talent in exchange and not someone like a Ricochet who WWE has f*** all nothing for and figure no harm in sending him to do something over there.
Does make Impacts show tonight intriguiging on that level.

It's just a door that has the words "Forbidden Door" written in crayon on it that leads to a dilapidated shack

Impact got their company and title plugged on a show with over 2 million viewers. That's probably all they need and will get in return. It's like when Jericho appeared on Austin's podcast on the network immediately after Wrestlemania then Dynamite that week got their highest rating in a long time. Some hardcore/casual WWE fans probably didn't know what AEW was but heard Jericho talking about it with Austin and decided to watch that week. Impact will probably be hoping Mickie getting the exposure of being on WWE's second biggest PPV of the year will lead to some people watching thinking, "damn, Impact/TNA is still a thing, maybe I'll check it out."

They are going to get Wade Barret back so we can have The Forbidden Corre, complete with new entrance music.
