I will say it's sort of unfair to assume that mostly because of what Mickie and Impact got out of the deal. Because if they truly, actually got away with it, Impact wouldn't be mentioned at all. And that's not to say WWE were desperate but they didn't get entirely their own way in it. I'm not gonna say you're wrong but if that very thing happened to me I wouldn't work that show..no different than I wouldn't go back to a job that shit on me. It just lines up that the WWE shits on people because they'll go back. I guess that's true, but again, it's not quite as easy to say that with what she got. And, really, it's not like she's signing a new deal or anything since she has one, she's getting a big pay day, Impact's getting some plugs and WWE fills a spot they don't have to go through paying a buyout clause or anything like that.

Extremely funny development, this. Fair play to them.

I know people are saying “Oh. WWE wouldn’t play well with others! They’d ruin impact” butttttt
I like this far better than sending a guy over to Impact to win their world title, beat everyone and then to lose to someone not on the roster all while the owner cuts promos on that show saying how much of a joke it is.

So there are some people over Mickie James liking a tweet saying that WWE did more for Impact women going though the Forbidden Door than AEW... I mean, the specific wording of the tweet was how the forbidden door never included women which a) not true, even with the stuff involving Impact which I can agree with was lacking and b) they likely wouldn’t have called Mickie at all if they didn’t fire her and a bunch of other women and realized they actually needed to fill the match with people. It certainly makes me curious how the person who made that tweet thinks Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb got to AEW, and how a bunch of AEW wrestlers got to work NWA and Impact. I guess we’ll never know.

I think the tweet was saying AEW didn’t raise up any Impact women, which may be true. I didn’t follow those developments closely but I don’t remember hearing much about the Impact women when it came to the AEW Forbidden Door.

All I can think of is the Good Brothers

And I'm glad for it. Sending Impact stars to WWE, sending WWE stars to Impact, whatever, I'm for all that shit. We need more of WWE mingling with other promotions regardless because it'll only help all parties involved.

Thunder Rosa was on an impact ppv That’s a plus then, seems she put over Purrazzo. Wonder if that was before or after AEW bought out Thunder Rosa‘s NWA contract, though.

Nothing says "Make amends" like "Hey Mickie, fancy coming back for the Rumble so you can get thrown out in under 3 minutes?"
I'm trying to be optimistic here. But this is clearly WWE clutching after releasing too many women over the past year.

She appeared July 17th at Slammiversary and the reporting on the buyout was on July 22/23. But might’ve been that the reporting lagged behind the buyout.

But this is clearly WWE clutching after releasing too many women over the past year. I'm sure it was an attempt to make up for the trash bag incident and though I wish she had stuck to her guns and not accepted, I'm sure if she turned them down, commentators would have found a way to put down Impact at some time during the Royal Rumble match. I'm not sure they could put her down and it make sense, if she wasn't at the show but I'm sure word would get to someone to put her promotion down.

Just thought it’s relevant since it would be AEW approving her to go to help Impact vs NWA approving her/contract allowing her to go help Impact.

I'm all for any wrestling company wanting to work with others. If we could stop seeing this shit as competition and trying to "stamp out the other guys" and saw it as an industry where anything could actually happen, everybody would benefit.
