A random list of superstars and basically this proves the winners go nowhere.
And to think we had such optimism when Cesaro won the first ever. Some of these winners are debatable as I remember some wanted Mizdow to win in 2015.

They should at least give the winner a midcard title shot. For some reason I can't find any footage from Wrestlemania 37 and Jey Uso winning. Wasn't this relegated to the pre-show like usual? |

Despite how pathetic the Battle Royal has gotten, nobody has gotten the shorter shaft than Mojo Rawley.
Guy wins, disappears for months. Meanwhile, the runner up becomes WWE Champion a month later.

I knew it was doomed when the moment that Cesaro was awarded a trophy, it was destroyed.
What WWE doesn't understand is that in order for the trophy destruction to mean anything, they should probably build some value around it beforehand.
Triple H during the reign is terror acted like taking the World title away from him was essentially depriving him of oxygen, and Kurt Angle would take a bullet for his Olympic old medals.
So WWE instead makes a big deal about this battle royale by having the winner get a trophy and immediately has it destroyed. So without the prop to point to, why does this battle royale winner matter?

When Austin threw his medals into the river, I was very angry. Yes, I know the medals weren't legit, yes I knew Kurt was not actually upset. But Kurt had built value around wearing those goofy things for years and I did not want that to go away. When Austin returned them to Angle later, I let out an audible "YES!". It's the same thing with the titles in general. If someone is proclaimed as the world champion and didn't have anything to show for it, why should we care? |

I guess you can argue it benefitted Corbin. However everyone else it has been pointless. Big Show and Strowman were already made, Usos are always pushed and taken care of so it didn't do anything for Jey, and the others careers went downward afterward. Or I guess in Cesaro's case just went laterally and was more disappointing.

And he only won it because they wanted his friend to appear on the show. And they tried hard to eventually hire said friend. The that friend quit. And then they fired Mojo because they only wanted his friend. |

I'd think Cesaro is close... Dude was WHITE HOT after winning the Battle Royale. They then had him turn heel and align with Paul Heyman that refused to even look at him... and then centered his gimmick around the Big Swing... and then had him stop using it because it was getting face pops... |

I mean... In Mojo's defense... I bought a loot crate last month that came with a picture of him with the trophy at Mania 33. That's pretty nifty.  |
