Not to start a debate, but to just not even mention that he was overweight for many years and has had health problems for a long time (comorbidities) is just...we don't need that. I say this as someone who is vaxed, boosted, obese and has had Covid, for what it's worth. On a lighter note/memory: I am now remembering him being at the Land of 1,000 Dances video for The Wrestling Album as a drummer. I've had an album copy since it came out, when I was 2 or 3, and just found this out like 6 months ago

This sucks. I went with my parents to one of his concerts in 1999 and it's still one of the best gigs I've ever seen.

RIP. Going to karaoke nights and seeing two drunken white people butchering "Paradise by The Dashboard Lights" will certainly hit different now.
For god's sake why aren't him and Jim in the RRHOF?

I hope TMZ speculation is just that. Lord knows we can't use this mutating into "it wasn't really that/it's not real (unless we need to acknowledge why we dislike certain people/it's an election)!" or other conspiracy theory debates. Then again I now remember who he "worked" for one season... “Worked” is right. There was no job. You can’t be fired. His job was to be seen on TV to drive tickets to his shows. Penn Jillette released a song about why he was on the show. Also, the son of the guy they didn’t work for told Penn “You’re the only person I’ve met who actually seems to like my dad” Tiny is manning at the door at Gas Works in heaven now, hopefully the Shitty Beatles aren’t playing. RIP Meat Loaf.

There's a theater not far from my house that ran a Rocky Horror screening once a month up until the pandemic started. Once they start back up, Meat's scenes are gonna be a lot sadder now.

TMZ is unfortunately pretty accurate when it comes to cause of death, though I'll acknowledge they didn't note his vaccination status. He was a talented guy and it's a bummer he's gone.

The Bat musical had a minute's silence before the show, and reprised Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through afterwards. Perfect way to pay tribute to him.

He would do anything for love... But he wouldn't sleep with another woman. Not really sure why she was asking him to do that, but at least he's committed.
RIP to a legend.

I grew up listening to Meat Loaf. My mother was a huge fan, her high school best friend was a bigger one though - she got kicked out of a Meat Loaf concert she and my mother went to after she jumped on stage and wrapped herself around him. (Part of him, anyway).

While I never liked most of his music, dude had a pile of talent.
When I was 8 or 9 I was in the local record store. Saw the Richard Corben cover on Bat out of Hell and Thought "This has to be the most metal album of all time!" So spent most of my allowance that week on the album.
Got home listened to it once, was very disappointed.
And while his acting in RHPS and Fight Club gets mentioned,I think he was at his best in the season 2 episode of Masters of Horror. The episode is titled Pelts. And holy hell I grew up helping my Dad gut and clean deer and hogs. Worked in a morgue for over a decade. And still some of the scenes in Pelts turned my stomach.

Thanks, I knew that people who pay attention to the end of the song know that "screwing around" was the "that". The things that he won't do for love are spelled out pretty explicitly: - Potentially forgetting the way [partner] feels right now. - Forgiving himself if he and [partner] do not go all the way tonight. - Doing it better [with a potential future partner] than he does it with [partner]. - Ceasing to dream of [partner] every night of his life. - Forgetting everything, treating it as a brief interlude/midsummer night’s fling, and considering it time to move on. - Be screwing around, sooner or later.

He also needs to sleep on it and give his answer in the morning for other decisions. Seriously, I forgot all the other verses usually not heard on the radio edit.

Damn now I want to see season 2 even more! VUDU has or at least had it. But I have so much crap to watch already that I don’t have to sit through commercials to watch. Hopefully they put out a budget version of season 2 at some point. That badass skull version is long OOP.
