“When I came back I really wanted to bring that song back, but it was shot down. Vince hates it, some other people didn’t like it or didn’t agree, but it’s very nostalgic. I haven’t given up on it. I guarantee you I will get that song back, I just don’t know when, and nobody is going to know when, but I will get a chance to bring it back. “For me when that music hits, there’s a lot of nostalgia and stuff, and a lot of memories of great wins, you know what I mean? Like, 10 years ago when I won the Royal Rumble in St. Louis, that was the music that played in the arena after I won the Rumble. So, I haven’t given up on it, it’s just a bit of a strategic measure going on right now about when I can get that back, but I don’t think we’ve heard the last of, Written In Your Face.” www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2022/01/sheamus-reveals-part-of-his-wwe-entrance-that-vince-mcmahon-hated/

One of the smaller things I don’t get is this weird thing that Vince has to like something for it to work and get on TV. I’m not saying he can’t reject ideas or not have stuff go through but if you don’t like a song for someone but it connects people to a performer, who cares if you like it? There’s no effect on you besides, at worst, making people happy for a few minutes and at best connecting them to a performer.

Which, honestly, doesn’t really make him that great a CEO creatively since it’s not really business awareness as much as him dictating what people should like by what he does. Which I know, he has done this stuff for years but still.

And vice versa, if Vince likes it, everyone else likes it. I guess we’re all foaming at the mouth to see Roman retain the championship through the entire 2022, Charlotte becoming a 20-time champion and juvenile Madcap Moss jokes.

This is one of those things that helped endear HHH to the fans during the early NXT days. I remember there was an interview where he talked about how he didn't get Blue Pants (I think it as Blue Pants, was definitely Enzo & Cass related at any rate), but he realised that didn't matter because the fans caught onto it.

He basically said “I have no f***ing clue why she’s so over, it doesn’t make sense to me but the fans love her so might as well run with it”

It's a goofy song, but at least it's memorable, which is something you can't say for a vast majority of of WWE theme songs now.

It's a goofy song, but at least it's memorable, which is something you can't say for a vast majority of of WWE theme songs now. Watching more recent Royal Rumbles to get ready for this Saturday has really brought this to light. So many people with music made since 2015ish you have no clue who it is until you see the Tron/Entrance because the music is missing something memorable in the opening, there's no real "catch". Then people like Booker/Diesel/KellyKelly/Torrie Wilson/Santino/Emma/Trish/etc with older music come out and you know who it is within 2 seconds before the Tron/Entrance even appears on screen.
