When you know guys are wrestling for $5 and risking permanent injury for it.
When you can tell the guys are untrained and just going to exchange light tube shots and carving one another’s foreheads up for the sake of bleeding.
Not a fan of gore. Although “hardcore” today is kinda played out it did have its time and place but it’s degenerated into an idiot game

I don't like anything sharp or pointy, really. Maybe with the exception of thumbtacks, but only if it's back bumps on them. And also the obvious one: *WARNING. NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART* {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Sickening. You sick f***.

The dude who got his finger cut off? All that for the glory of... being referred to as "the dude who got his finger cut off". Like, I'm okay with the pizza cutter spot (more so since learning how it's done, holding the cutter in place) but I'm very much in the "there better be a reason for the weaponry" camp.
Side note, my friend (who's a wrestler around here in the Northeast), his girlfriend isn't much of a fan of him doing deathmatches and he said he won't unless they really make it worth his while. He doesn't even have to do them either, he's got a good gimmick that's over.

Glass, light tubes and stabbing. Do people actually stab each other with knives in death matches? Or is it something else that can puncture wounds?

The Beulah/Bill Alfonzo match was a difficult watch and hasn’t aged any better. It was disgusting how much blood was flowing, even to my teenage self. The ring canvas looked like the floor of a slaughterhouse.

Probably when you have spots that seem impossible to control.
Like when I watched Jericho vs Nick Gage, I knew that as crazy as everything looked, it felt like they had complete control of what they were doing so they don’t completely f*** each other up. And I wasn’t feeling sick from watching it. It’s those kinds of matches with guys who are pros and know what they are doing.
Then you see spots from a Indy match, I can’t remember who was in it, and the guy had his crotch on fire and the other guy then used a weedwacker. I have no idea what thoughts were in your head, but I don’t know how you do a spot like that and and not expect to get f***ed up.

Carnage Cup 12. I forget the wrestlers but one of them let the other cut a part of his finger off.

I've started watching GCW for Cardona's run and there've been a couple times where they exceeded past my comfort zone. Some of the glass spots, yikes. I know I was really all over the place after Cardona won the title, because I was happy he won, but I was also worried at how drenched in blood he was afterwards. After a good decade of watching him wrestle a mostly safe style, it was a big change.

Yeah, if you can handle the fork stuff from the Archer vs Hangman match tonight or pretty much anything Abdullah did in his day, it’s virtually the same as how most other sharp weapons are done in most respected deathmatch companies.

Yeah, blunt objects, barbed wire, tables and stuff I'm usually fine with...
glass, stabbings, shredding all that stuff I'm really not down for.
on the glass front one of the people I talk to online used to be a hardcore wrestler on the low indy scene and still has a shard of glass jammed in his knee from like 15 years ago.
also of course Sprinkles are the most dangerous thing and Los Ice Creams should be banned from wrestling >_>

When it comes to glass, it depends. If it's sugar glass and you're going through a pane of it, that's one thing since that's entirely for show. But dudes taking legit fluorescent light tubes to each other is a big turn-off.

’ll occasionally watch some classic W*ING or FMW, but mostly because the talent involved in some matches like Onita or Mr. Pogo are really charismatic. Other than that that I normally don’t seek it out that often.
TBH, a lot of Attitude and Ruthless Aggression material is cringeworthy to watch in terms of what it was doing to those guys’ bodies. Some of the chair shots Corporate Rock hit Foley with were probably worse for him long term than him crashing off the cell.
