I feel like I'm never happy with what I'm doing. I just started a job and feel very blah about it.
Before that my wife and I were doing our own business, I did like that but we weren't making enough.
I guess I just don't know what I wanna do, I'm 40 and feel super wishy washy.

I've been a lab technician for almost a year now. I like my job, I could just do without the weird drama and complaining from others. Like, my previous job was full of management bullshit and constant overtime; this place is great!
But man, I completely understand where you're coming from, OP. I'm 30 with a degree and very often, I feel like I should've taken a different path. Guess the only advice I can give is do what you can to improve your job. Maybe there's an opportunity you wouldn't expect. But yeah, you're not alone in this.

I applied for my latest job on a whim cause it's fully remote..I'm a week into training and I hate it...I looked up reviews and this company forces OT..and has been sued multiple times for not paying OT. It's like eesh. All I ever wanted was a work from home job..I get one and I hate it.

Forcing OT is bad enough, but if I'm working, you're gonna pay me. I'd say give it a little bit and see how you like it, but don't be afraid to look elsewhere if it's not for you. ...Pepsi Man?

We'll see but I don't put up with bullshit, I'm completely unafraid to walk. I just feel a bit down I'm this age and still have no idea if any job will ever make me happy.

I work in communications for billboard advertising.
To sum my role up as concisely as I can, I'm responsible for booking advertisers on the boards and assigning creative for our installers to post.

Musician.
I love it, but would recommend it as a career path only if you don't mind a fair bit of instability. It's a shitload of work, you're always tired, and absolutely nothing is ever guaranteed.

I own part of a brewery
But every day I go to run sales and service for an HVAC company that primarily does work for schools and municipalities. Both pay well, and I’m not miserable every day so a win I suppose

I'm a network engineer and I love it....most of the time. Unfortunately, to do it for most companies, you need a 4 year degree to get your foot in the door for this type of work, even though certifications are exponentially more practical in day to day tasks.

My job title is Inventory Specialist. I run the cycle count program which verifies stock accuracy over eight buildings. I am the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for transactional issues, which means I fix all the transactions that people break on a daily basis. Since the number of problems seems to e increasing, I have started holding training classes to teach people how to do various transactions properly. I work with Finance to make sure all transactions are closed out on a weekly an monthly basis. I help Inventory with putting away stock when they are short handed. I identify aging stock that doesn’t move, build a case to dispose of it, and get it scrapped out. And when I have extra time, I review random stock locations to find ways to clean up storage and streamline our processes.
Oh, yeah. And two out of the last three years I have been in charge of our company Physical Inventory.

I work as a sales assistant for a software developer.
The things that make me most happy about that job: -Only two other people in the office with me (the boss and the CTO so to speak) -A work time model called "Trust Work Time", i.e. I have to work 40 hours a week but I can distribute them freely most of the time. For example, if the work amount allows it, I can take a 1/2 or a day off for personal stuff as long as I do the hours later in the week (for example, the weekend). And the trust comes from that nobody checks your hours (no work sheet or electronic device) which is great since you don't feel under pressure most of the time.

I work in a hospital pharmacy Do you enjoy it? I just started, but for the time being, it's not bad. It's a much better work environment than the retail pharmacy I previously worked for, plus much better pay.
