I just started, but for the time being, it's not bad. It's a much better work environment than the retail pharmacy I previously worked for, plus much better pay. I have no idea what pharmacy work is like, does that require schooling? For retail work, there's no schooling needed. However, its a healthcare job as well as a retail job, so you have to deal with the stress that comes with both fields. For more higher-paying jobs like in a hospital setting, you would need to get certified (the course that I took was about 6 months, plus you need to take a certification test). And depending on the state that you're in, you may have to register at the state level as well due to it being classified as a professional job.

For the hospital, it's enough for a comfortable living, especially if you're able to volunteer for an extra shift or two every now and then. For retail, the pay isn't good at all for the stress that you would also have to deal with. This is honestly only a path that I would recommend if your heart is in it and you want to work in the hospital setting.

Waiter at the moment since I despise being in restaurant management these days any I can’t find any bartending openings nearby. I tried going into car sales recently but I wasn’t one of the 10 hires unfortunately.

i'm a Quantity Surveyor for a small house builder, i've been on for the bigger house builders in the UK, but i got sick of just being a number and not having any effect on the site, now i get to be working on the stuff that goes to planning and have a good say on what happens on site and how we build.

Web Developer. Actually one of the few programmers I know, who love their job. Most people end up in Dev, because they'd like to 'do something with computers' and know the pay is good. They are all miserable. Takes a certain type of weird nerd.

Night shift worker for a big hotel chain, with occasional freelance web developer work on the side. The former pays the bills, the latter is what I actually like doing.

At a newspaper callback center. Kind of a sleepy job when the person on the line isn’t losing their mind and cursing you out.
