Also important - Drew McIntyre actually managed to get the job done and didn't choke. Plus, he managed to have a solid dominant babyface champion run through 2020.

I called for the TNA/Impact version of Drew and Lashley for a long time and I’m glad both guys was able to go back to that and show how good they really are

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Also important - Drew McIntyre actually managed to get the job done and didn't choke. They also figured out how to book him strong in a way that wasn't completely obnoxious. Drew from December '19 until losing the title to Lashley was exactly how they should have booked Reigns as a face. THAT'S your formula for an ass kicking babyface

Yeah. literally for a week because they didn't want the Lashley/Drew title change to happen on free TV... when they planned on that being their Mania match... I can only assume originally Drew was supposed to win at Mania too... as that's the only real way that logic makes sense.

In a company where the heels are usually cooler than the faces, it was nice having a babyface champ with some actual swagger.

At the start he came in with this CM Punk style character as part of The Rising, then after they disbanded, he won the title off Matt Hardy with a bitch cash-in.
Out of all of his work outside the 'E, the Impact run feels like the weakest and least important somehow. I have a feeling that even without it, Drew would be in the same position he is today.

yeah Impact drew was a very serious THIS BUSINESS! type. It's sort of why I mentioned his return to ICW. If you watch any of that, you'd see a more 18 rated version of the Drew we'd get in WWE.

THAT'S your formula for an ass kicking babyface Which is a shame that WWE largely has failed to book a babyface in the vein of Drew, which really became noticeable during Reigns’ reign of terror.
