It’s been mentioned before, but everyone should really watch the build up to Hogan/Andre. When I finally saw it, there were all sorts of little things that aren’t as famous. One of my favorite little aspects is that Heenan got Andre suspended in 1986. Then Andre is reinstated and Jesse Ventura gets suspicious, because he hears that Heenan was at the reinstatement hearing but Andre wasn’t. He starts asking around and can’t get any answers.
My other favorite part of it is Andre, before the turn, shaking Hogan’s hand a little too hard and saying “four years is a long time to be champion.”

I mean it depends. Sometimes you get a week or whatever where nothing really happens but because the ppv or blowoff is two weeks away not 1 we got to kill time which does that take away from perfect?

Randy Savage from his heel debut through the Mega Powers, through the Macho King run, to the Liz reunion was about as close as you'll find.

The Ric Flair retirement storyline, leading to the Jericho/HBK feud. November 2007 to October 2008. Almost a full year of great storytelling. This is my answer. I think it's the only time that a storyline in WWE actually flowed so well from point to point from start to finish. Also, I think some people forget that Batista actually kicked it off, coming out angry at HBK for retiring Ric, claiming his ego got the better of him, and continued when HBK faked a knee injury to win his first match against Dave. Just the way that weaved into the Jericho feud, and playing up the whole thing of Shawn being torn up about it but nobody believing him because of his past. It's just so good, and I feel like they fell backwards into a lot of it instead of planning it out meticulously.

First thing that came to my mind. Haven't really looked back on it so my memory is a bit fuzzy... but the first One Night Stand. At that point, didn't really know what ECW was, but watching it then I felt that it was a great send off for whatever was ECW at the time I watched it.
Shame that it had to continue on.
