Karrion Kross probably counts here. All he needed to do was not make those goofy-ass faces, and maybe he would have come off a little more like a threat.

Bull Dempsey when the announcers were told to stress the absolute SIZE of this MASTADON was absolutely tragic. Dude looked like yr local dispensary owner.

Yeah, I didn't get "REAL MAN" Bull... at all... but when he turned into "Slob" Bull and then Bull Fit! He was pretty entertaining. It's a shame they didn't do anything with him after the Bull Fit stuff got over... if the NA title existed at the time I could have seen him win it.

Was Happy Humphrey ever built as a monster? If anything, he was just really really obese and could barely move. Dosen't look threatening to me.

Tugboat/ Typhoon had goofy uncle face.Giant Silva looked like Weird Al stretched by a funhouse mirror. I second that, he comes off as that fun uncle. Him acting as a monster heel as Typhoon seemed so forced. When WCW leaned into him being a klutz, they called him whacky Uncle Fred as a nickname.

I think with Kamala, there was never anything that really made him feel dangerous other than size. Vader, Tenta, Bam Bam, Taker, they were all big guys, but they could all pull out some seriously athletic moves to wow the crowd, but with Kamala... There was none of that, he was just a heavy guy in paint, reliant on the racist headhunter archetype for cheap fear, which got less effective as the years went on. Kids in the 90s weren't being raised on tall tales of cannibals in the colonies told by people in pith helmets.

Baron Corbin, if you count guys who are just "big man" style wrestlers.
During his "Lone Wolf" days, he was supposed to be a badass biker, but his face just made him look like a twelve-year-old in a Halloween costume.

He went from place to place in the 1980s so he was a "fresh" monster for the most part. The term "monster" reminds me of 1995 Royal Rumble where Vince said Mantaur was a monster and then Henry Godwinn was a monster. King called him out on this and asked why he thought everyone was a monster. Of course, it was Vince just trying to get these new goofballs over but neither one, especially Godwinn was exactly a monster like an Earthquake, Yokozuna or Bundy or any of the bigger guys who hurt Hogan or other stars.

By the '90s, he was a relic that really wasn't an effective monster heel anymore, but in the '80s, he definitely was making it work, like his Andre the Giant feud. I think Kamala was savvy enough to know the bloom was off the rose by the '90s, since he got more selective on being willing to job, which also cost him opportunities. He was trying to protect his staying power, but I think he miscalculated, in retrospect, and should have just cashed in when he could.

Vladimir Kozlof. He looked like he was trying so hard to be intimidating. Plus they gave him those white trunks. He looked like a toddler in his underwear after his bath pouting about having to go to bed. I don't think it helped that when he finally got music, it started with some fairly chill beat and whoever was talking in Russian over it sounded more like they were complaining how bad their morning was.

Crimson. TNA tried to make him into their Goldberg, but he had absolutely nothing of what made Goldberg great.

Good one. The blue bodysuit made him look like an oversized plush toy. Vince must've gave OMG a big bonus to convince him to dress like that

Karrion Kross probably counts here. It was like if you booked Raven like he was Vader, if that makes any sense.

Braun Strowman looks like a bearded 18 month old baby. I bet his father was Pat Mustard.

The hell of it is, as One Man Gang, he WAS intimidating. Vince looked at him and saw a giant African easter egg for whatever reason. Completely stripping him of what made him intimidating

Completely stripping him of what made him intimidating It's what your grandfather would be wearing to show he's hip and in with the cool crowd. As I said, Vince must've gave him a lot of money to agree to that gimmick change
