Allison Kay/Siena
They paired her up with Maria and tried to build her up as this unstoppable monster which she is nowhere near any of that

So you hear all the time that he's a nice guy, good hand, good mind and all that.. but I swear I always thought Abyss looked like a big, lumbering buffoon. Especially when they basically ruined him with that Hogan ring horse shit. He had a grace period where he was pretty good (though never all that scary, exactly), but even by the time Hogan came in, he was already past his prime. Even Jim Mitchell basically said Abyss tried too hard to get approval from people and put his body through too much abuse with tacks and glass, which was neither good for his health or his presence as a monster. Like, when he was Blackhole Slamming AJ Styles with like half dozen rotations, that was cool, but he really did get to a point where he'd inevitably be the one hurt with whatever weapon he introduced into a match, and it got hard to take him seriously. I think it also hurt him that from day 1, people saw him as being simultaneously a ripoff of Kane and Mankind, which wasn't entirely fair, but did presage the problems he'd have with poor self-preservation and awful angles.

If she changes it, she loses her verified checkmark. And the process to get that is very difficult.

I'll always have a spot in my heart for Abyss but whenever dude shaved his face and still wore a mask he looked like Homer Simpson.
Also the pumpkin looking mask he got in 2014 looked so damn bad. Literally like a fake Kane mask.

My issue with Abysss was his face expressions under the mask was seeing and it was so bad. Like his month always looks like he smelled a fart when he was trying to be mad and angry. Yes he was a solid big man worker. I agree with you how he put his body through heel to gain approval from fans and the issue is as a monster he hardly won those matches. That also effected him that he did all of that and took those bumps to not win most of the time.

Kelly Klein.
She was really just a slightly-bigger-than-average woman who was booked as though she were Vader in his prime, and it was hard to buy her no-selling clotheslines.
(Disclaimer - I liked Kelly Klein and thought she had a big upside, but RoH did not book her to her strengths)

TNA booking him like an idiot didn't help either... he'd bring out tax or "glass" or whatever... and without fail... he'd be the one tripping and falling into it.

I guess she's stuck with the name associated with a lackluster run in a televised promotion, then. no one seems to really know... there are people that get it quickly... and there are others that literally take years to get verified. there's people like Gail Simone, a major comic book writer who has tons of credits and awards to her name... despite multiple attempts still isn't verified.

Looking back, its a shame he didn't have the Joseph Park gimmick sooner, as dude was great with that and showed off his promo skills and charisma far better than being in a mask and covering the ring in broken glass and blood every week could.

I'm a big Abyss fan. I used to live near Georgetown, KY and he was one of the top stars in the Mountain Wrestling Alliance as Prince Justice.
When I started watching TNA, I immediately knew he was Abyss, based on how he worked.
I wish he'd have taken WWE up on the offer to be a Mania opponent for Undertaker. He would have gotten a high profile match, when both men could still work, and maybe he wouldn't be so broken down now.

He'd have worked a LOT more dates for the WWE at that point in time, and that wear and tear is just as damaging as silly bumps, hence the need for drug testing to deal with the rampant pain pill abuse well after the shift to a 'safe' PG product. Plus they were chewing people up and spitting them out at an absurd rate at that point in time, they looked down on Impact talent and saw them as needing to be retrained from scratch when signed and they kind of had the habit of pencilling people in for feuds with Taker then dropping them for asinine reasons.
