Biker Taker is my all time favourite Undertaker. In retrospect I liked the character because he still felt like Undertaker, just dressed and presented in a way that felt more realistic and gritty. Sadly it's also a period where his wrestling got hella lazy and he didn't really get his spark back until he went back to being the Deadman.

I'm liking NXT 2.0, more so than Raw, Smackdown or Dynamite.

Nakamura’s heel music is far superior to his face music, an absolute banger of bangers.

Adam Bomb was over as a bad guy for me as a kid. I wasn't quite a kid anymore, but I was also a big fan, and thought he had a TON of potential.

I hated the Angle v Austin feud in 2001. Thought it was ridiculous Austin was suddenly scared of a guy who was a complete dweeb a few months earlier.
On a similar note I also thought it was absurd Brock was dodging Angle in 2003 after his heel turn considering the roles were reversed earlier in the year. I don’t really think I bought Kurt as a badass face until 06.

I have no interest in "regular guys" putting on 5 star matches.
Gargano, O'Reilly, Fish, Thatcher etc bored the absolute crap out of me. They might be good in the ring but they ain't bringing any new boom periods in.
The reason wrestling was so big in the 90s was because it transcended into pop culture and captured the attention of people who never had an interest in wrestling before.
That's because of the gimmicks and larger than life characters and overall crazy storylines.
"Gargano and O'Reilly putting on a 5 star clinic" isn't gonna make its way into pop culture. But I could see big media platforms writing a story about Mick Foley getting set on fire or something.
Vince has the right idea. His biggest problem is he doesn't even go far enough with his own ideas. He wants gimmicks and big characters and a lot of times, we see them get toned down for absolutely no reason. Look at Sandow for example. He also let's go of too many "potentially big" talents like Killer Kross and Keith Lee. Those guys look more impressive than say... Austin Theory and Bron Breakker. Who just look like regular guys. Yet he seems to love for some reason.

Warrior Award should have been as hounded, at least, as the Fabulous Moolah battle royal.
I talk about this in the Shad thread.

Cody Rhodes jumping to WWE is the 2022 equivalent of Jeff Jarrett jumping. A good wrestler, a name but will not impact the business at all.

-I think Roman is the most interesting/best in-ring worker in the company because he's the ony one that really has a basis of psychology in his work/incorporating storylines. So, so many of the matches in general have move spamfests (and Roman does this too but less often) that exist solely to get pops out of kick-outs and "this is awesome" chants, which are just groan inducing at this point. I think the worst example of this is Seth Rollins, who I cannot really stand in the ring anymore because none of his matches matter or he just wrestles like a face all the time with no real point to anything he does.
-Don't care enough about NXT 2.0 but the best of the male side of NXT at least ended as soon as Sami won the NXT title because Dusty Rhodes knew exactly how to book that aspect. Nobody after that was close to as interesting as PAC as a champ, and so many of the stories for men were mired in endless Shawn Michaels issues. The women were better booked to some degree but that also sort of died as soon as Bayley beat Sasha, despite the myriad talent they had around.
-Really probably not that unpopular but the reason I don't watch any of the weekly shows anymore (and only watch the PPVs because why not) is the presentation is such assembly line garbage. Camera work/production of it is terrible, announcing is awful on all levels, theme songs are the worst they have ever been and almost entirely not distinct, and I really hate the stupid CGI bursts in entrances as opposed to just putting together entrance videos. All of this is easily fixable and if they did, it would make the largely whatever product a lot more watchable.
-Kane was funny at times but man the guy had less than a handful of good or interesting singles matches in his career. Even his squashes were boring and didn't have that Sid/Ryback/Big Show type appeal. When he had a guy like RVD or Bryan to drag him around in a tag team, he got somewhat better.

Bret Hart was great and did a good enough job in his role.
But holy shit has he been overrated over the past year or so.

He just came off as another generic big guy. Anyone can do what he can do. Him being fired was no great loss to WWE.

Is this unpopular?
The Black and Gold era of NXT is the best era since the Attitude Era.
I cared about everyone and everything on it and haven't since 2001.

Bret Hart was great and did a good enough job in his role. But holy shit has he been overrated over the past year or so. Has there been some active movement that’s been undercutting him and his impact on wrestling recently? Because usually you don’t get such fervent rallying behind someone unless there is.

I think the workrate/dream match obsession had reduced the scope of who wrestling appeals to.
