Stand and Deliver is a better card than either night of mania Honestly, I think Mania is the lamest “premium live event” card in any promotion in the last 6 months. I just can’t even quantify how little I care about “Kevin Owens talks to Stone Cold Steve Austin” and Brock v. Roman as main events.

Here's one that I've debated sharing.
Austin was a flash in the pan.
Yes he was over. And it's not entirely his fault the he was a flash in the pan.
But he was.
In 98 Rock is out popping him as soon as his faux face run starts. When 2000 hit, Rock WAS THE MAN, & never looked back.
Yes Austin was a pop culture figure, but he was never on the level on Hogan, Rock, Cena.

Yes Austin was a pop culture figure, but he was never on the level on Hogan, Rock, Cena. Austin at his peak was probably the most popular wrestler ever. He got insane pops every time his music hit from 1997-02 and then even after retiring in 03-04 as GM/sheriff he would outpop the rest of the roster every week (arguably the most stacked roster of all time during that era too). And tonight almost 20 years after retirement he's going to get the biggest reaction of anyone on the biggest wrestling show of the year. And let's be real, that would be the case even if it wasn't in Texas. He's that beloved by wrestling fans. I will say that Austin's status in pop culture with non-wrestling fans was brief (98-99 Celebrity Deathmatch era) and doesn't hold up like Hogan did or Rock/Cena will. Hogan is usually always the first person people will think of when you ask them to name a wrestler and Rock/Cena are celebs bigger than wrestling now and will have movies/TV shows to look back on for years to come. Austin didn't do anything outside wrestling in the past 20 years to keep his name out there like that after his attempt at acting didn't really pay off. If you're in your 20s today and don't watch wrestling you probably won't know who Austin is but you will know Rock/Cena and a good chance of Hogan too considering the sex tape/Gawker stuff got a lot of publicity.

He was and still is popular. Won't deny that. But pop culture wise? Yea he was a shooting star. Burned bright but quick.

I find the women's division way more entertaining than the men's. I feel like the women get the more interesting or wackier gimmicks. Or maybe it's because it feels fresher, since when I was growing up women's wrestling was treated like a joke, or, at least, it felt not as important. I also like that they seem to wear brighter colours (or maybe it's just the hair). Who knows.
Edit: This goes for AEW, too, even though their division isn't even featured that prominently.

The women's division is usually better as far as matches and stuff goes.
Roman's the only man who has consistently entertaining segments and matches.
