From their relaunch until their departure, which superstars did you want to see hold the ECW title?
For reference, here were the stars to actually win the title at the time:
Rob Van Dam Big Show Lashley McMahon Morrison Nitro Punk Chavo Kane Henry Swagger Christian Dreamer Jackson
Safe to say guys like McMahon, Chavo and Kane had to right to hold the title.
I would've given Cor Von, Elijah Woods, Goldust and even Kozlov a chance with the strap.

In terms of where he was in his career, I'm disappointed that Shelton Benjamin never won the ECW Championship. If he wasn't gonna be the guy carrying Raw or Smackdown as the WWE or World Heavyweight Champion, the ECW title may have been the way to go.

It was the best-booked title WWE has had post-02 brand split. The Chavo/La Familia stuff dragged but they needed to tie the show into SmackDown somehow, and that entire Christian run was perfection.

Elijah Burke had the skills to be something more in the WWE, or anywhere else for that matter.

I'd have liked to see Regal beat Christian for it, even if I get that he wouldn't have been an ideal "final" champion. They could still have had Ezekiel beat him, I guess.

Ryder was in his "Heart and Soul of ECW" run, so him getting the title to rub it in to everyone else could have worked I think.

Ryder Cor Von Regal GoldustBenjamin Him going "extreme" back to his 1996 version would've been an absolute blast as ECW Champion.

Sabu and/or Sandman should have gotten a run early on. Both were massively over as faces.

Also, I made a thread with this idea years ago and I still think it might have been interesting, even if cut Big Show's run with the title short:
Ric Flair.
Either have him heel after he takes out Show, mocking the ECW crew as a traditionalist (as someone put it in the thread, 80s vs. 90s in a way), or have him embrace the Extreme style while Heyman, Show, Holly and whoever else they ally with try to get the title from Ric.

This reminded me of that hilarious Christmas Carol (not really sure what else to call it) that Goldust did on WWECW one year. Not sure if it holds up now but I remember enjoying it when it aired.

I'm surprised Hardcore Holly never got a "thank you" run. He could've used it as a way to bring back the "extreme" in Extreme Championship Wrestling(even if it was under the WWE banner).

I bought a Summerslam once in big part to see these two wrestle and 'babyface' Christian wrapped Regal up in his entrance robe and hit a finisher and pinned him immediately. I was so mad.
