Has produced the best wrestling talent over the years? I'm thinking Minnesota, and Texas would be the favorites. Those are the two states I know plenty of wrestlers, others not so much.
What do you guys think?

Texas is certainly a big one, as is Minnesota, as you say. I'd have to think California would also have to have a pretty respectable output.

Many greats from Pittsburgh and Philly mean Pennsylvania has to be in the conversation.

Hawaii should get a mention, 41st biggest state by population but the Samoan and Japanese diasporas has it punching above it’s weight.

Not a state or American so bit off topic, but have been thinking lately about the amount of talent that seems to come out of the island of Ireland now who have "made it", when the idea of that as a kid in the 90s was beyond impossible. Even back in the day (unbeknownst to me), we had Danno O'Mahony from Cork who was NWA and AWA (Boston) World Champion in the 1930s and originator the Irish Whip; Dubliner Pat Barrett who was NWA junior heavyweight champ and a WWWF tag team champ in the 70s among other titles; Dubliner Velvet McIntyre, WWF Women's Champion and tag champ in the 80s; and of course Finlay. Then more recently, we have Sheamus, Finn, Becky, Damo, Aoife Valkyrie and Session Moth Martina. Not bad for a place with a combined population of less than the state of Indiana!

[br Texas -Dusty & Dustin Rhodes, The Funks, Tully Blanchard, Steve Austin, Ernie Ladd, The Von Erichs, Gino Hernandez, Stan Hansen, Blackjack Mulligan, Barry Whindham, Dick Murdoch, The Prichards, HBK, The Guerreros, Skandor Akbar Minnesota -Verne Gange, The Road Warriors, Rick Rude, Jesse Ventura, The Hennings, Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Gene Okerlund, Bob Backlund, Brock Lesnar, Nikita Koloff, Bronco Nagurski, Baron Von Rascke Yeah it's these two states. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the Divaris and Top Flight, from Minnesota didn’t come from Robbinsdale like every other wrestler from the state.

I feel like for more recent generations, Ohio has been quietly creeping up there, what with Miz, the Nemeths, and Wardlow coming from greater Cleveland while you've got Mox and Pillman Jr. from Cincinnati, and that's just the ones I remember off the top of my head.

Florida has to be in the running just by having WWE developmental based there for about 15 years now, plus other schools like the Gangrel Wrestling Asylum (shout out to Jai Vidal) and Flatbacks Wrestling School (Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears) in the area. Though there are also plenty of schools with awful reputations (including, but certainly not limited to Chasyn Rance's Team Vision Dojo).

I'd go with Texas. HBK, Austin, Taker, The Funks, Guerreros, Dusty

Only a few immediately come to mind for Delaware, mainly the Briscoe Brothers and Jim Kettner. But here, prowrestling.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Delaware_wrestlers, there are more. Had no idea about Brickhouse Brown. I went to school with Bulldog Brower's son. DJ Hyde - I'm not counting. You can have him, Maryland.

Not New Hampshire, but there's more here than HHH. New Hampshire's the birthplace of Nikki Roxx, Matt Taven, Danny Davis and Chyna. Not bad for a state that barely has a wrestling scene any more.

Massachusetts has Cena, Kevin Sullivan, Albert/Lord Tensai, Damien Sandow, Carmella (which I genuinely was shocked by), Tommaso Ciampa, Eddie Edwards, Tom Lawlor and Carmelo Hayes, among others. So maybe forgive us for Spirit Squad Kenny and Flip Gordon? (Gordon's from Weymouth. Whoops...)
