I’d never actually seen this but noticed it’s been doing the rounds recently on wrestling Facebook pages.
What was the point of this? Why did he do it? Why did people sit and watch that?
I don’t know anything about this, so what was the goal here? Was there a story or did he just come out and start bumping for a doll?
Explain.

Why did people sit and watch that? Because it's amazing.

Because Kenny really really wanted to literally see the brain of a certain wrestling personality from Louisville KY leap out of their skull in rage.

It's YOSHIHIKO, a serious competitor that died and ressurrected several times (including during that match with Omega) just to give us the pleasure to witness them wrestle! How dare you

While it does have serious wrestling and the uppercard is normally all serious matches, this match is from DDT, and DDT is known for it's comedy wrestling. The doll in question is called Yoshihiko, and Yoshihiko is treated like a real person. And match with Kenny is hardly the only Yoshihiko match. He's faced Kota Ibushi youtu.be/_LApVz53SpTeamed with Jun Akiyama youtu.be/R_ubHk83Yhwand just going throw in a tag match where he teamed with Kazuki Hirata (Just because Kazuki Hirata is one of my favourites) youtu.be/OfUF6JgC8NQWhile he's hardly on every card and it can be months without Yoshiko appearing the guy is popular enough to gain his own twitter this year twitter.com/YoshihikoDDTWhat's the point of doing it? 1, It's DDT 2, It's entertaining. Why did he do it? How is anyone to know why anyone wants to do any match but them? Why did people sit and watch that? It's DDT, their audience expects and are used to and are entertained by wackiness, What's the goal? Yet again to entertain.

I've not seen that one but I have seen the little girl match and it really demonstrates just how good Kenny is because he manages to completely make it work.

YOSHIHIKO has been a stalwart fixture of the DDT wrestling company for years and has "wrestled" far more than Kenny Omega.
DDT's the epitome of crazy comedy wrestling, a Ladder won one of their titles once. Just how they roll. They're also the company with Andreza Giant Panda (And his wife), they go above and beyond lol.

Some of the funniest shit I've ever seen is the 1000th Heavymetalweight Champion be the Belt itself by being on top of the current champion who was layed out by his Rival and the 1001th Heavymetalweight Champion, Jun Akiyama win by pinning the Belt. By accident due to resting his arm on it.

Maybe not a bowl of rice, but the title history is amazing. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironman_Heavymetalweight_ChampionshipApparently even the belt itself was champion.

With the number of big name wrestlers who brag about their skills by saying they could have a good match with an inanimate object (like say, a broomstick), I don't get the outrage when someone actually does it and makes it entertaining. Especially in a setting where things aren't taken ultra seriously.
This is obviously about the other inanimate objects listed in the thread, not a talented competitor like YOSHIHIKO.

He actually did an interview on this with Meltzer I think where he saw it as a challenge after seeing the Ibushi match. I do think its interesting to watch the whole thing to get an idea of what we really look at when it comes to wrestling. Its funny to think that such an exercise like this in any other types of performance art, would simply be seen as another way to show how impressive the art is.

Seriously, that’s just incredible I really want this belt to come to AEW for a bit, even if it's just for like AEW DARK, I wanna see someone like Serpentico win it and a bunch of like the more undercard peeps fight over it. It's a goofy title done right.

The Heavymetalweight title really helps you appreciate just how much the 24/7 title f***ing sucks.
