Undertaker and Ric Flair, among others, are coming to Megacon here in Orlando in a couple weeks, and both have some very specific pricing and signing info.
Taker: Photo Ops $239 $229 per autograph (any item except belts) $249 per autograph on a BELT $99 for "HOF 22" inscription **UNDERTAKER WILL NOT SIGN ANY TRADING CARDS FROM 1991 **UNDERTAKER WILL NOT SIGN ANY WWE/WWF EVENT TICKETS **NO PERSONALIZATIONS OR OTHER INSCRIPTIONS OFFERED
Flair: Photo Ops $89 $79 per autograph (any item except belts) $149 per autograph on a BELT $79 for "Nature Boy" inscription **RIC FLAIR WILL NOT SIGN THE 1982 ALL STARS TRADING CARD **NO PERSONALIZATIONS OR OTHER INSCRIPTIONS OFFERED **RIC FLAIR WILL NOT SIGN ANY WWE/WWF EVENT TICKETS
Now, I kinda understand the belt thing, but the cards from 1991/1982 and the tickets thing are rather odd, anyone have any backstory on that?

I’m not sure. I’ve gone to several cons, covering wrestling, pop culture, and horror. The only incident I can remember of someone refusing to sign something is Bruce Campbell refusing to sign Evil Dead comics that used his likeness without permission. I can understand that.

Over 200 for a f***ing squiggle on something? What a con! Several months ago, I had a chance to get Jerry Lee Lewis to sign something. It was $400. I didn’t do it, but if I’d had the money to spare? I totally would have.

If you’ve already paid to enter, then you shouldn’t be fleeced on getting the very thing these places are there for.

I remember Warrior doing a signing in Southern California sometime around 2012 or 2013, when he was as still on the outs with WWE. In the advertisement it said Warrior would NOT sign the Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, DVD released by WWE. Which I thought went without saying.

If you’ve already paid to enter, then you shouldn’t be fleeced on getting the very thing these places are there for. Taker and Flair are with Ryan Fitterman who signs exclusive athletes and then upcharges their fees. Flair was $50 for the longest time, once he signed with Fitterman it went up. The signing fees are getting higher but it's not like the athlete works for free and the promoter wants to eat all their costs so we can get freebies. They have to get a plane ride, a guy like Flair or Taker may require first class. Some guys drive in but still need to be paid enough to make the gas money worth while. Then you have hotels, if someone's staying over. The prices But to the original question, I just read this last night, that Fitterman is wanting his athletes (Pete Rose and Mike Tyson too) to only sign tickets exclusively with him, most likely so that they can have a much higher upcharge if he corners the ticket market. Flair and Taker especially aren't exactly selfless guys, they probably love being with a guy like Fitterman. I'm sure the autograph fee money being so high does allow for some amenities they would be enjoy. Several months ago, I had a chance to get Jerry Lee Lewis to sign something. It was $400. I didn’t do it, but if I’d had the money to spare? I totally would have. Check out "autograph live Jerry Lee Lewis" there is a huge thread about a potential scam that someone is running with Jerry Lee's through mail autographs where autographs coming back, for fees, are being signed by someone else and not Jerry.

I got four of the one day passes. Ended up getting 2 autographs, and spent like another $80 bucks.

Theory:
Undertaker is afraid of cucumbers.
Cucumbers = pickles
PICKLE TICKET
Hence, Undertaker will not sign tickets.

The cards thing is probably because those are technically their "rookie cards" and, since they're assholes, they've determined those autographs are worth more because post-pandemic the market for specifically rookie cards has gone through the roof. The ticket thing I can't say for certain but I have a few theories: - they're easy to bootleg - signed tickets are usually then used as part of a larger memorabilia piece and they don't want to assist someone else in making money - the size of them is too small, delicate and time consuming to get their full signature on

Also, the no personalization is probably so they can crank out the most product in the least amount of time. So they will have more stock signed which they can sell to fans on ebay or website or other places. I can't think of any other way Fitterman can make things anymore un-fan friendly. Taker doesn't even smile in photos but he has thinking meeting him is a life long dream realized. They can say "he was super nice" in the seconds he is next to them for the photo op but I doubt he cares at all. A thing to also remember is that the con doesn’t pay the celebrities to appear, they make all their money off the photos and autographs.

Over 200 dollars for a basic Undertaker autograph with no personalisation. Oh boy, sign me up. He's a real man of the people.

240 bucks for a generic autograph saying The Undertaker. Man, ol boy is greedy Hard not to wonder sometimes if the dude made bad investments or something. I know he had two divorces, both of which likely came at some of his peak years so that probably ate up a lot of his money, but he's still been milked for so much merch, and had so many marquee matches as long as he physically could, and then after when it'd have been wise to hang it up. Does feel like he's only ramped up the greed in recent years, rather than getting to relax.

I remember the photos of Undertaker with fans at some other convention recently and he couldn't even be bothered to smile. People were probably paying 200 dollars to get a photo with a guy who looked miserable.

Wonder what Taker would charge to sign a photo a Sean Connery?
