Will Barcelona actually have their new signings ready for tomorrow and the start of La Liga? Can’t imagine Lewandowski, Raphinha etc being happy about the situation.

Will Barcelona actually have their new signings ready for tomorrow and the start of La Liga? Can’t imagine Lewandowski, Raphinha etc being happy about the situation. You'd hope that agents, knowing the state of Barcelona, would have put some kind of clause in where this would break the contract because surely they've been lied to. You're not going to sign for any club knowing they can't actually play you.

They should be able to register at least most of their players now, plus have enough in reserve to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea. However, it is worth noting that Barca Studios was more or less shut down two years ago as it was operating at a loss, and was valued at around €10 million when Barcelona tried selling it on last year. If the idea of a guy who funded Laporta's last presidential campaign paying €100 million for a 25% share in a business worth €10 million doesn't sound shady as f*** I don't know what to tell you.

I’ve been perplexed with the way Barca has been run ever since the Neymar sale really but at this point it’s just getting hilarious. It’s a soap opera at Barca basically now.

Barca have nobody to blame but themselves. Their policy was always built around combining La Masia graduates with raw South American prospects, but ever since Neymar they've become fixated with the Real Madrid Galactico approach, signing the big flavour of the month regardless of how important they are to the team. Any other team would be dragged over the coals for their financial mismanagement, but because of their history they'll be allowed to get away with it.

PL matchweeks are a new exercise in seeing how low Everton can go.

There’s been signs for a few years now but De Gea is clearly finished at the top level. At one point he was only behind Neuer but I don’t think he’s even a top 20 GK in Europe now.
Ten Hag should have done what Guardiola did to Joe Hart. Thanks for your service but you don’t fit into my system. Then again he’s on something like £350,000 a week so who would pay him anything close to that now even if United were willing to let him go.

It's been pretty clear, but he's benefited from being their best player, an accolade that's really meant progressively less over time.
