Mick Foley's first title win was great, but it was clear that Russo was running out of ideas for the rest of his time in the company, like doing Vince/Austin yet again with the Higher Power reveal, and the Corporate Ministry was an odd mix of people. It felt like creatively, they were coasting on momentum built up back in 98, which again they were able to do for the time, but fortunately the product DID pick up in 2000 because I don't know how much longer they could've been in this "holding pattern" while keeping the viewers they had.

The main event scene at the time still holds up. The rest is garbage. I'll always argue that the IC title never recovered from being passed around like a joint at a Phish Concert that year. I'm pretty sure *I* held the thing for a week or so somewhere in there. It's wild to think anyone big was missed, but X-Pac should have won it.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I thought the original corporation storyline, largely the stuff involving Austin and The Rock was all pretty great. After Wrestlemania, however, things became a blur and it wasn't until summerslam that things seemed to play out a bit smoother and made more sense. That show itself was great and wouldn't be out of place from a booking perspective mixed in with the PPVs from 2000.

Back in 1999 I was absolutely glued to it, but after recently attempting a rewatch....yeah, no. Most of that year is borderline unwatchable trash.

Honestly I hated it. I wasn't a big fan of 98 either. Luckily things turned around in 2000.

Russo's departure ended up being a godsend and I believe the first half of 2000 (except for Wrestlemania) was the peak of the WWF between the quality of the product and it's popularity.

love it -- even if this era had some nonsensible things like Vince being the Higher Power

Im in the middle of rewatching the Attitude Era and im halfway through 99 and i have to say Hardcore Holly's Character at this point is probably the best i've seen him.he thinks he's a bad ass and is challenging everyone and keeps getting his ass kicked its quite good comical stuff.most i've enjoyed him
