I was at the Monday Nitro in October 1997 where the dark match was Nailz vs Yuji Nagata. That's unbelievable! Nailz was able to still find work in '97😲 Please, what was his ring-name? It was either "The Prisoner" or "The Convict."

The premise of the feud didn't make to begin with. It only ended up making sense due to Nailz departure. For one, Nailz wanted to get his revenge on Bossman for beating him when he was serving time. Considering that Bossman debuted as a corrupt prison guard, it wouldn't be a stretch to believe that happened. Also, they didn't even acknowledge his(Bossman's) past, which he could've said that it was the old him and that his past indeed came back to haunt him, but now this time he can stop him, and it'll be by the book. Third point, Nailz was a released convict, not an escaped one. Why would he continue to wear his prison jump suit. How did he get around from city to city(which means he'd have to get past security from airport to airport) wearing that thing(while also carrying a night stick). Also, does the prison let you keep that jump suit. In fact, how was he allowed in the building in the first place to give Bossman that beating? That would be considered trespassing. When you think about it, the Nailz character was very limited and couldn't really go that far. It defied logic even within the World of wrestling. There was definitely a lot of logic holes with the Nailz characters. Another one was him getting freaking vignettes threatening Boss Man while he was still in prison which would definitely lead to his parole being revoked. And then the WWF hiring him even though in kayfabe he was a convict who wasn't a wrestler and had spent two months threatening one of their employees on television. When it got it got past the vignette stage and he was released from prison with him then sending the commentators anonymous letters to read where he issued more threats to Boss Man and then him threatening Boss Man over the PA during his squash matches; I thought that was actually fine. It came off as genuinely scary and there wasn't any logic holes as he was out of prison and he wasn't giving his name. It wouldn't be far fetched to think there was plenty of inmates that served at the DOC in Cobb County that didn't like Boss Man when he was there especially with him being a jerk when he first came to the WWF. I think it would've been better if they had just skipped the vignettes and went straight to the letters and PA taunting to get over who he was. I have no idea what to do when it comes to the issue with his apparel. Him showing up in his prison uniform made no sense but at the same time it established who he was and I don't really know of an alternative for what he should've worn. Like when he finally debuted by jumping the rail and attacking Boss Man if you just have him in regular street clothes that leads to a logic problem too in that he would more or less just be a fan so why wouldn't the arena security stop him? I think in order to get around the whole vignettes and prison suit deal is to debut Nailz first as if they would any other new star(in squash matches). He can have regular wrestling attire. Then, on an episode of Superstars, he can do the beatdown as it happened, and then we later find out he served as one of the inmates from Cobb County Prison that Big Bossman mistreated. This would allow him to do actual holds(which Kevin Wacholz was capable of, just see his previous matches as Kevin Kelley) since it was already established that he was already a wrestler. If they already had plans for him post-Bossman(and didn't try to kill Vince), not only should he have won the feud(since Bossman was leaving anyway), but it would give the character freedom to interact (be it feud or team with) other wrestlers. I mean, I get Nailz wasn't the greatest wrestler and his mic skills was atrocious(they even had to alter his voice for him to sound menacing), but portraying a character who was specifically brought in to feud with one and nothing else limited the limitations he already had.

I witnessed a Big Boss Man vs. Nailz match in a Brooklyn parochial school gym after their departures from WWF and it was a pier six brawl. These guys threw the rule book out the window! After his DQ loss, Nailz whacked Boss Man in the shin with the nightstick and it made a sickening sound. Big Boss Man limped to the dressing room afterwards, visibly hurt.

Going from wrestling each other in a marquee match on a WWF PPV to wrestling in a school gym in less then a year.
