Okay, I'm 20, 21 on October 15th.
Someone I know is trying to set me up with this girl who is really really nice, pretty cute, and has a hot New York accent. So far, it seems to be working according to her plan I guess.
The only thing is, she's 25. That's not too terrible of an age difference right? I mean, when I was 18, I was pursued by a 25 year old and ultimately decided against it (probably dumb of me, but oh well) because it was just...kinda weird.
Is age really that big of a thing?

If she was like 30-something... maybe, but I still wouldn't rule it out. Age difference from 20-25? Heeeell no.
Aaliyah had it right -- age ain't nothin but a number.

Okay, yeah, I was thinking it wasn't too bad. When I was 18 and someone was 25, yeah that was kind of a big deal, but now not so much. I guess I was just still in that frame of mind.

um.. that's not so big of an age difference. I'm 34 and spending my time chasing both a 21 year old and a 45 year old.

Nah man, go for it. Sometimes an older woman is just what you need - their maturity/experience can be a really nice thing to have.
My gf is 3 years older than me and 6 months later, things are just peachy keen.

Maturity is more of a factor than age when you are in your twenties. If your both pretty much in the same position in your lives you'll have a much easier time than if one of you is still figuring out life and the other has a steady career.
I'd say if you are really interested in her and you have compatible lifestyles, the age thing won't be too big of a deal.

The big thing about age differences is when they occur. The difference between 17 and 21 is MUCH bigger than the difference between 21 and 25.

Age is just a number...cept when she's under 18. Then it's wrong. Unless of course you're under 18 too. But you're not, so it's wrong.

Have fun picking out drapes while your boys are partying Yeah but they have to paint first. The drapery selection will only take place if they have enough time.

I would think it's better to go out with someone who's older than that someone younger.

Perhaps your new gal pal told her friend, "LOL, I'll pretend you said 26..."

Age is a number... most of the time It's a matter of "sympathy" (in the original ancient greek meaning of "being on the same page", so to speak). You can get perfectly along with people much older or younger than you, while feeling totally stranger to others of your same age. I stopped having problems with age, mostly because at the beach I hang out with younger people, and I tend to find them more funny and easy-going than the "young adults" that act like they're 35-40 at 20-25... I know some are frowning at me because at times I relate myself with people much younger than me, but I don't really care... I'm not doing something illegal (yet... ), so I don't see a problem if I'm having a good time [not that way] with younger folks as well It's bad when people "snubs" you because you're "too old/too young", so I'm down with getting to know everyone if I think it's worth my time. Be him/her 38 or 18... To Void: if you feel good about her, go for it! 5 years aren't a big deal (you're not talking about 18-13 or something like that...)
