LOD and Sunny, what was the point? Sunny was popular and they wanted excuses to have her onscreen in flashy outfits. LOD were very increasingly stale and dated, and WWF was trying to make them hip.

Ric Flair and AJ Styles. I've said it before on this forum and I'll say it again, it was like Larry Flynt managing Reverend Lovejoy.

Ric Flair and AJ Styles. I've said it before on this forum and I'll say it again, it was like Larry Flynt managing Reverend Lovejoy. Flair's a good example of how being a good promo doesn't make someone a good manager. He really doesn't have the humility necessary to be a good manager, and the two being a total mismatch made that even more obvious. Still, I'm not sure who he'd actually have been a good corner man for who he wouldn't then try to overshadow. I wonder if people kind of assumed he'd be good at it due to his tenure in Evolution, but I think the reason that worked was because he was still actively wrestling and enjoyed being in, more or less, the biggest act in the company. Easy to get him to not step all over the other three's toes when it was giving him the relevance and spotlight that he wanted. By the time he was in TNA, though, he couldn't be satisfied with that, especially when he was already slumming it even being there.

Mr. Perfect and Coach, summer of 91. Curt Hennig didn't need a manager other than Bobby Heenan, but this might have just been one of those cases of VKM getting an old timer a few paydays. This was also when every heel had a manager to get the heat.
I'll echo that Flair is a terrible manager since the focus is always on him, strutting and flopping on the outside or giving the Flair promo.

Heyman and Cesaro, if only because it was blatantly used to keep Heyman on TV while Lesnar f***ed off wherever.

An ECW example: Jason with anyone. He was so bland and lifeless, he added nothing to anyone he was associated with.

any Paul Heyman guy that wasn't Brock, Punk or Roman. I assume you just mean recent WWE time in that regard. That said, while it didn't lead to titles or anything, the Heyman/Ryback pairing was fun.

One can argue Rick Rude didn't need a manager, but he made it work numerous times.
Judge Jeff Jones and anyone.
Slick was like a *please boo me" sign for Rick Martel, nothing more.
The forgotten Rock/Debra thing.
DiBiase with Steiners.

I get why Nyla Rose wanted Vickie Guerrero as a manager, despite honestly being plenty fine on promos on her own, but even though managers do more than just cut promos, ideally, I do feel that partnership has outlived its usefulness, if only since Nyla's really due for a face turn. In line with this that very brief time Andrade was managed by Vickie Guerrero.

Vickie Guerrero in general is unnecessary.

Vickie Guerrero in general is unnecessary. Vickie made the heel character work but she never should have been on an screen character let alone one that was a heel nor one that was continually embarrassed because of her looks and weight. She should have gotten a Dana Warrior or Amanda Huber position if WWF wanted to put her take care of her after Eddie's death. Her employment was Vince's way of honoring Eddie but in typical Vince childlike fashion putting Vickie into embarrassing positions because she didn't fit the mold of a WWE Diva. Surprised no one mentioned Baron and Powers of Pain. Did Baron ever talk for them? It was such a short lived combo I hadn't seen any videos.
