Roy Jones Jr. damaged his legacy by fighting too long, but he was superhuman in his prime. The things he could do were unbelievable.

Psh. He isn't so tough. Those guys are obviously taking dives, he barely touched them!

One of the more athletic boxers ever and that served him well in his prime
Too bad he was Allen Iverson when it came to practice so once the athleticism faded (specifically after he won the HW title) the skills were not sharp and boxers were eating him up

I had to watch that first gif multiple times to even make out what happened there. That's nuts.

Had to have broken a rib or two.

I was shocked when Jones got KTFO by Antonio Tarver. To see him lying there on the mat was surreal. I mean, who could possibly touch him?

Roy was never the same after moving to heavyweight to face Ruiz. Lost his speed, evasiveness, shots didn’t have the same pop on them. I thought Tarver won the first fight and personally picked him to win the second, which he did.

Tarver def beat him in that first fight imo and then once he got his ass laid out against Glen Johnson you knew it was done

I wonder how would Roy & Oscar fair in the era of Hagler, Duran, Hearns & Lenard

Didn't he auction off a chance for anyone to fight him for a charity event a few years ago?
And after it sold the state SAC had to step in and be like "no, we are not letting an amateur fight Roy Jones Jr."?

I wonder how would Roy & Oscar fair in the era of Hagler, Duran, Hearns & Lenard I dont think Roy would've fared well against Hearns or Hagler TBH. His only elite level names on his resume is James Toney and Mike McCallum TBH. His speed would be the x factor for all of those fights those and those guys can handle speed efficiently. Oscar wouldn't have a shot against Leonard, Hagler, or Hearns. Its not a knock against ODLH hes one of the most underrated modern resumes but those guys were just built different. Hed have a better shot against Duran who was wildly inconsistent fight to fight TBH

Tarver def beat him in that first fight imo and then once he got his ass laid out against Glen Johnson you knew it was done I reqatched that first fight recently and I have to say I wonder what folks are talking about because Tarver gave that fight away by being inactive a lot of rounds only doing things in the first 4 rounds then maybe the last two rounds. But even then they were toss-up rounds because Tarver was inactive too those rounds and had those 10-30 secons bursts
