Her new character did not work from the start, and instead of just going back to what works, they just doubled down and now she's left with this generic army gimmick that is more bland than the ones from the late 80's. At least the pin up "powerful lady" gimmick was original and gave her a unique look/theme

Still think they should have made her WWE's Sonya Blade somehow (even if their Johnny Cage is married to Maryse).
Though some might have bad flashbacks if she reverts to the storyline she had before she got pregnant again.

They should've kept her new gimmick as a face and the vignettes should've been Sgt. Slaughter training her in the battleground.
Not that whole "Okay, here goes... When I was 5 I was-" crap that basically made everyone wanna turn off the television.
Wrestling is supposed to be corny, Over the Top and circus like. All of that sympathy "real life" bullshit doesn't work. That's why her ass was getting booed when she should've been getting cheered.
But yes. Give me Pin Up Lacey back. That gimmick was her to a tee.

I thought the proper lady gimmick was pretty terrible even in NXT. Though I've never really been impressed with Lacey from either a character or in-ring standpoint.

Lacey was never going to be the face of the division. That said, she's been given absolutely no help whatsoever when it comes to booking her with any shred of consistency or credibility

Repeating the promo ad infinitum and changing her alliance more than the Big Show is what really did her in. She had a chance with the gimmick change but they couldn't make up their mind on what they wanted her to be or even what show she was on.

I'm one of the few Lacey marks on this board.
Great look, she has personality, and is legitimately believable as a badass.
Loved her Southern Lady gimmick, loved the theme, loved the gear.
So yes, I cosign this idea of bringing it all back

It's odd to me that they just don't know how to make her a good baby face when she has all the right tools to be one and even more with the smackdowns women's division being very heel heavy they need another face yet they refuse to turn Shotzi still and still confusing us with whatever laceys character is supposed to be now.

Call me crazy, but I think Shotzi and Lacey Evans would make a kickass tag team. Change Shotzi's look slightly to be more "pin up" like Lacey was, Shotzi plays the babyface in peril and Lacey gets the hot tag. Could be a fun "opposites attract" deal. Better than what they're both doing now.
