I'm currently about 90% of the way through Black Flag and while I don't think ot necessarily needs a remake, I do miss some of the more modern conveniences and the RPG elements of Odyssey.

A f***ing mobile game...gotta get that Chinese market*.
*Chinese people typically don't play on consoles. A legacy of them being banned for a long time. PC MMO's, and mobile is king there.

Mirage is the first AC game in … many many cycles I have zero interest in. I thought it might grow on me as release approached, but it didn’t. I want a giant open world action RPG.

Still haven’t gotten around to playing Valhalla, but I loved Odyssey so much. It was honestly one of my favourite games in years, gimme more of that

I still go back to it from time to time just to run around that world. Still have DLC I need to dive into!

Mirage is interesting to me because I do miss the smaller, more focused games in the series like the Ezio trilogy. I'm also curious to see what Alamut is like.
That sad I really want to learn more about Red and Hexe.

It looks good, but I loved the switch to the RPG style and this seems like a backwards step. That said, as well as the RPG games sold it apparently alienated huge swathes of the franchise's fanbase, who look on Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla the same way a lot of Star Wars fans do with the sequel trilogy. I figure this is to appease them.

I dont really have time for a massive open world game right now, and with Spider-Man coming at the end of the month, a quick short and focussed game, priced to reflect that (which this Ass Creed is) is what I want.
So I'm excited for it to arrive later today and will get on it on Saturday.

Honestly thought Odessey was the perfect mix of rpg and AC. Valhalla was just a mess in terms of size and the leveling was so convulted. Mirage looks like it takes too many steps back for me to really enjoy it. Been thinking of running around in Odessey again though, such a gorgeous game.

I got Mirage yesterday. Planning to start the game up in a bit and see how it is. The notion of the game returning to its roots in terms of leaning towards stealth-based gameplay is what's drawing me some interest. That, and how Baghdad during the age of the Abbasid Caliphate is depicted in the game. Definitely gonna be taking some screenies of the series along the way.

Mirage looks like it takes too many steps back for me to really enjoy it. Been thinking of running around in Odessey again though, such a gorgeous game. I f***ing loved Odyssey, my favourite of the series. I’m finally getting around to playing Valhalla, probably about 80% done, and I 100% get why people were excited for a more back to basics game in Mirage. Valhalla feels so padded out and long for the sake of being long, a 15-20hour game would be a very nice change of pace. The stripped down gear and weapons system is a huge improvement over Odyssey, but that’s about the only improvement. Valhalla is no where near as nice to look at, and while Odyssey dragged at points during the main game it’s nowhere near as bad as in Valhalla. I am way past the point of playing because I’m invested in the story vs playing because I just want to finish the f***ing game. EDIT: Yes, I only brought this thread back so I could bitch about Valhalla. I’ve invested a stupid amount of time into this game the past few weeks, and it is frustratingly disappointing compared to Odyssey. It’s still a good game, but f*** me it’s unnecessarily big

I've been playing Unity since that's the one mainline AC game I haven't finished besides Mirage, which I haven't even played yet. It's weird going back to the "puppeteer" movement system after the more intuitive controls from Origins on. Probably some of the grisliest imagery in the AC series, too. Like people are walking around with heads on sticks. And you can watch guillotine executions happen in real time.

Assuming I’m not completely burnt out after finishing Valhalla, I was definitely thinking of going back and playing one of the older games. Pretty sure I have the entire mainline series on my XB1

The funny thing with Valhalla is that I think its world map is actually smaller than Odyssey's. But that's only because Odyssey's map has a ton of open water. And patching in harbors as fast travel points made it even more convenient.
Valhalla's load times were also brutal. Even longer than Odyssey's and that's sayinh something.

I have time to go to the store and buy snacks when I go to Asgard. Even a normal fast travel, you’ve got 30-60 seconds to wait.

Pretty sure I have the entire mainline series on my XB1 According to my end-of-year recap, I put in 283 hours on Odyssey this year, 183 hours on AC3 Remastered, and 151 hours on Black Flag. I'm definitely AC'd out for 2023, but I thoroughly enjoyed all three games. AC3 needs a reappraisal, I think it's pretty underrated.
