Oleg Boltin's wrestlers that inspired him were The Rock and Brock Lesnar.

Apparently Good Brothers are WWE bound. Can't say I'll miss them, though was a bit of nostalgia to see Karl Anderson in New Japan again.

We already got HoT as the obnoxious group who's matches are clusters.
Can't say I'll miss them.

I wonder if they will have Hikuleo win at Autumn Attack or grab someone else to take the NEVER title if Anderson is gone.

I think Hikuleo should get the rub, follow it up with a 12 minute fast paced hoss fight with Ishii and he should be a made man in the NEVER division.

I can buy Hikuleo as a singles champ, he's put in the work and holds his own in the ring now.

I like Hikuleo, but given it's the NEVER title, it isn't like he'd likely hold it for long.
I'm fine with Anderson having beat Tanahashi just since Tana already did his NEVER arc. I want to see someone else get an opportunity at it. Hikuleo wouldn't be my first choice, but he'd do the trick and get Tama a bit of revenge by proxy. Also gives a big dude for Cobb, JONAH, O-Khan, or whoever to beat, since I'd peg those three as the ones most likely to unseat him.

The 15-minute TV title matches are being hyped up in a way where they’re basically saying “this is 90s New Japan” without actually saying so.

Seeing a bunch of complaints about NJPW having too many titles now, but I at least appreciate that they're showing effort (for the moment, wrestling history is littered with good booking intentions that go by the wayside in the name of flexibility) to have a lot of them serve specific purposes: the STRONG titles are just meant for US shows, the new women's belt will be for largely international cards or major shows in Japan where women are booked, now this one is for shorter matches largely centered around younger talent...which, admittedly, the NEVER belt was partly meant to be, at first. Even the US belt itself is likely meant to be more of the major prize for the US-based shows, but the pandemic made the growth of the STRONG brand a lot slower going at the start.
Ooh, and I now have tickets to both nights of the NYC shows!

JONAH is so tailor made for New Japan. And Okada is so good at playing the underdog face. It also makes him mix up the normal formula. No 10 minutes of fairly non remarkable back and forth grappling. A single, well told simply story. Between his work in NJPW & Impact, JONAH's had a great 2022.

Anderson just showed up on Raw along with Gallows.
Real dick move, after all New Japan had done for you and made you a star, you can't do the job and drop the Never Title?

Hopping in to say that I really enjoyed that show, and it's a great feeling when a New Japan event is finished. You just feel content, y'know?
The new belt is weird, but the core idea sounds fun and it might be a way for younger/native talent to be better showcased. Which is what people like myself have asked for recently.
