Makes sense, if so. I know Vince isn't in charge anymore, obviously, but I do know it's generally frowned upon to not complete agreed upon dates when possible. In any case, I get why people are upset but some fans are really overreacting and jumping to conclusions. Plus Triple H has expressed more willingness to work with other companies than Vince did. Him being willing to let Andrson do the job on his way out could be seen as a gesture of good will. After all before his health scare he expressed interest in a retirement tour which would have included dream matchs against people even outside of WWE. It may not be immediate but I could honestly see WWE in the future leaning into cross promotion a few years down the line. I'm sure he's going to try if he still has any designs on "NXT Japan" ever happening. The pandemic response of firing tons of people and failure to buy STARDOM both show WWE's utter failure to understand the Japanese scene and left WWE looking like cynical ghouls. If Triple H wants to challenge that perception, then yeah, a demonstration of good faith by having Karl do business and drop the belt would certainly be a good way of showing WWE is changing. Beyond that, they want the Good Brothers for tag/stable stuff, so it's not like it's going to hurt their stock in Karl for him to lose a singles match.

“Son of Strong Style” might be my favorite new nickname I’d the past few years.
