I don’t think anything tops Enzyte make enhancement drugs back during the Attotude Era, psrtcundtky fir how ludicrously often WWE aired those commercials. But I’ve heard of old school territory promotions having to take some pretty off the wall advertisements and sponsorships just for the sake of the moolah. So this should make for a fun subject, let’s hear them.

Pornhub sponsoring Joey Ryan. It’s a shame they have a history with such a scummy guy.

Not only did a Ninja Turtles video game sponsor Hell in a Cell, but the heroes in a half shell appeared at the show itself.

Not weird, but Western Union sponsoring Slamboree 2000. They had a lot more presence on the show than most sponsors used to get. Logo was everywhere, "Western Union presents..", aso the WU speed move of the night instant replay.
It's funny, because these days WU is the last way you want to transfer funds.

The 2000 No Mercy PPV was sponsored by the Presto Pizza Oven.

WU also sponsored In Your House 13. I worked for a company that was a Western Union agent, and I was absolutely over the moon when we lost the license. It was nothing but trouble, both the company and the people who used it. I remember one of the UK exclusive PPVs in 2000/2001 being sponsored by Heinz Baked Beans, that was pretty silly.

Check early editions of WWE magazine in the mid 80s and the Apter magazines. There are a lot of weird sponsors in them.

Remember when TNA had a giant 5 Hour Energy logo sprayed on their canvas for months?

Yes you're right, I think they sponsored a few events. Also Heinz? Tell me it's a British wrestling event without telling me it's a British wrestling event.

Check early editions of WWE magazine in the mid 80s and the Apter magazines. There are a lot of weird sponsors in them. OMG, the Apter Mags had LOADS of sketchy sponsors. I remember ads for among other things: - A play-by-mail wrestling role-paying game where the champion would win a "real title belt" (a drawing of which was included in the ad, and I swear it looked like a wristwatch
- Ads for what was charitably advertised as "women's wrestling" even though one could clearly see it was porn. (You could even see it was in someone's apartment)
- An entire page of ads for really sketchy "soldier of fortune" type stuff like handcuffs, billy clubs, and fake badges (and there was NO WAY that was legal)
- Adrian Street selling wrestling gear with his "Bizare Bazzar" store
On top of that, I remember the Apter mags having an unhealthy amount of attention on "Magnificent Mimi" Lessoes, including a MULTI-PAGE SPREAD of her filming a movie in Italy. (And that's not even getting into one add doing essentially a pinup photo shoot of Nurse Vanessa taking a soak in a hot tub...and I swear I saw that spread with my own two eyes)

My mind automatically goes to the "Vagisil Superstars of Bowling" sketch on SNL.

The presence of Tiger Ali Singh on the card would also be a dead giveaway.

Also, back in the early 90s,WWE magazine just before their Personality Profile section, they had an ad for Columbia Hiuse CDs (some of which had profane language I believe.) Also, after Lex slammed Yoko on the intrepid (an event that was sponsored by Chevrolet trucks which had the slogan: “Tough like a rock”), an advertisement for Chevy trucks appeared in the magazine.

Remember when TNA had a giant 5 Hour Energy logo sprayed on their canvas for months? You're missing the true spirit of Total Nonstop Action leaving out the fact that it was 6 Hour Power, 5 Hour Energy but for ONE MORE HOUR

Remember when Miz was the most hated heel in the company and also a salesman for paper guitars who taught these dumbass kids to just give up learning real instruments and go hard on some Paper Jamz instead
Dude broke in to their garage and smashed all their instruments but the kids were always so thankful about it. They do not know money and fear yet.
