And Stacker 2 used to have a 6 Hour Energy drink, apparently: "Hey... I've got a great idea... 7. Hour. Energy drink." Hey, your car seats are makin' me itchy, man. What are they made outta, cactus?

Check early editions of WWE magazine in the mid 80s and the Apter magazines. There are a lot of weird sponsors in them. OMG, the Apter Mags had LOADS of sketchy sponsors. I remember ads for among other things: - A play-by-mail wrestling role-paying game where the champion would win a "real title belt" (a drawing of which was included in the ad, and I swear it looked like a wristwatch
- Ads for what was charitably advertised as "women's wrestling" even though one could clearly see it was porn. (You could even see it was in someone's apartment)
- An entire page of ads for really sketchy "soldier of fortune" type stuff like handcuffs, billy clubs, and fake badges (and there was NO WAY that was legal)
- Adrian Street selling wrestling gear with his "Bizare Bazzar" store
On top of that, I remember the Apter mags having an unhealthy amount of attention on "Magnificent Mimi" Lessoes, including a MULTI-PAGE SPREAD of her filming a movie in Italy. (And that's not even getting into one add doing essentially a pinup photo shoot of Nurse Vanessa taking a soak in a hot tub...and I swear I saw that spread with my own two eyes) The Imaginary Wrestling Association still exists www.playiwa.com/join/join1.htmofficialfan.proboards.com/thread/461993?page=1

Remember when TNA had a giant 5 Hour Energy logo sprayed on their canvas for months? You're missing the true spirit of Total Nonstop Action leaving out the fact that it was 6 Hour Power, 5 Hour Energy but for ONE MORE HOUR OK, so not only is there a knockoff of 5 hour energy, TNA was sponsored by the KNOCKOFF? 🤦🏼♀️

DELICIOUS FRUITY FRUITY!!! BAH GAWD THEY'RE FRUITY!! SKITTLES! You just know Vince was laughing his ass off at this backstage. This was a JR call, IIRC Vince was actually furious about it because he thought Mars (who owns Skittles) would be furious at JR not reading the copy. But Skittles's entire marketing campaign wad based around absurdist humor so they loved it and Vince told JR to keep it up after initially throwing a Vince tantrum

Not weird, but Western Union sponsoring Slamboree 2000. They had a lot more presence on the show than most sponsors used to get. Logo was everywhere, "Western Union presents..", aso the WU speed move of the night instant replay. It's funny, because these days WU is the last way you want to transfer funds. WU also sponsored In Your House 13. I worked for a company that was a Western Union agent, and I was absolutely over the moon when we lost the license. It was nothing but trouble, both the company and the people who used it. And before then, WU was seen a lot during JCP/WCW shows on TBS. All the 10-10 phone services of the '90s. The AmeriFit ads seen every commercial break for 1995 ECW.

No Way Out 2000 was sponsored by PhoneFree.com - a dot com company that was so successful that it doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. It was a tech company that tried to offer free phone calls from PCs to Phones over the web. Apparently in 2001, they had to start charging for calls to cover overhead (unfortunate for a company called PhoneFree), and went out of business shortly after that.
The dot com bubble burst right around this time. Many companies that advertised during the 2000 Super Bowl also went out of business in the years following as well.
