Then why does everyone keep buying so many bags full of the stuff for Halloween? Seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy if you ask me.

I actually don't mind it. There's a limit to how much I'll have but I was surprised when I discovered how hated it was.

I actually don't mind it. There's a limit to how much I'll have but I was surprised when I discovered how hated it was. The Brach's Autumn Mix is good, but avoid the Zachary candy corn. It tasted cheap in my opinion. Farley's was really good. I have a soft spot for the pumpkins. As I said, I like candy corn...just don't eat too much of it in one sitting. It's better in moderation. I also miss the real harvest mix. Oh there's a Brach's bag, but doesn't have half the shapes it used to. (notably, no yellow candy corn cornstalks) |

Because most people aren't buying it for themselves, they buy it to give away and they're usually cheaper than the "good" candies.

A few years ago, my brother suggested that the reason so many people hate candy corn is because they've only had the cheap grocery store variety. To prove his point, he gave me a bag of high quality candy corn made from all natural ingredients, and I have to say he was right. That stuff was really good.

It's cheap and easy to put out in offices, break rooms etc. Also it's kinda iconic even though it's terrible.
