I am 111% sure that if Vince was still in power, and given the same circumstances, he would still do the hillbilly family and Uncle Elmer's wedding next week if possible. I mean every ten years or so he would try some variation. The 90s had the Godwinns and the 00s had Jesse and Festus. IIRC, didn't he also try making "Redneck Rookie" a thing for debuting in WWE AJ Styles?

Akeem: *shows up at the building* Sami Zayn: what the f*** is wrong with you dude And considering Zayn's character Big Larry which was horribly racist, that says alot.

2 years ago? Sure. Probably wouldn't be wise to keep him a heel then too. The beatdowns, even if it was against heels or heel jobbers? Probably not.

Honestly, any angle making light of concussion/brain damage. Trying to pull off a Perry Saturn & Moppy-style gimmick now would probably just look like you were purposely trying to piss off Chris Nowinski and/or the 50 or so people who sued WWE for long-term brain damage. I think Impact just about got away with it with Eric Young, but mostly because everyone loved his dork gimmick anyway.

Yeah, the World Elite gimmick nobody seemed to like... so him going back to loveable doofus Eric Young was welcome... even if when you think about it it's because of severe brain damage >_>

Johnny B. Badd. A white guy in heavy fake tan playing a character straight up based on an African American performer, one with rather problematic beliefs to boot. Lets be honest it was basically blackface.

Has anyone mentioned that indy show where a KKK wrestler came out to Thuggish Ruggish Bone and beside him was another KKK wrestler who threw off his robe to reveal that he was Jim The Anvil Neidhard all while attacking Virgil?
Cause like, that. Although I can't imagine ppl liked it at the time either on account of the fact that you probably haven't heard about the buff KKK wrestler named THE THUG who came out to Thuggish Ruggish Bone. I remember searching it up and dude was just a normal ass wrestler and was not doing That on the regular so it's even more of a wonderful mystery how it happened.

I remember searching it up and dude was just a normal ass wrestler and was not doing That on the regular so it's even more of a wonderful mystery how it happened. That happened here in Vegas, booked by a guy by the name of "Buffalo Jim" Barrier. A very eclectic figure, even by both wrestling and Vegas standards. Owned an auto-body shop and a wrestling school, and the former business ended up running afoul of a strip club owner across the street with mob ties that **allegedly** resulted in Buffalo Jim's murder, though it's officially regarded as a cocaine-related heart failure. In fact, there was an Unsolved Mysteries episode that just released in the past couple weeks regarding his mysterious death. allthatsinteresting.com/buffalo-jim-barrierAlso, here's some retrospectives on NWC, one about the promotion, and other about the show in which this happened on. If you go back and watch the clip of Virgil getting beat up by Jim Neidhart disguised as a KKK member, you can hear Buffalo Jim on commentary before the "match" starts. I'm sure everyone is shocked that somehow the Ultimate Warrior was their big top star (until he wasn't and he no-showed on them). www.dawrestlingsite.com/wrestling/flashback_reviews/other/history-national-wrestling-conference.phpwww.dawrestlingsite.com/wrestling/flashback_reviews/other/nwc-slammin-tv-092495.php

Lets be honest it was basically blackface. Well I was today years old when I learned that Marc Mero wasn't actually black. I always believed it was his natural skin color not a tan. So also didn't know he wasn't black until maybe the WWF run. His skin has gotten a lot lighter with age and loss of body mass and maybe some facial work done. And probably less, if any tanning.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Val Venis. A guy playing a porn star who would make a lot of sexual innuendos and sleep with many different women.
By that same token, The Godfather, who played a pimp who objectified women.
