Announced today that Lio Rush is officially a member of Chaos.
At Rumble on 44th Street he came to Yoh's aid and announced as his partner for The Super Junior Tag Tournament.
His first match in Japan will be at Historic X-Over.
A good addition to the Junior Division he is and there's a lot of guys he can face.

I think it's pretty brave of NJPW to trust him with international bookings at this point.

How big is the international branch of Chaos? Seems they'll let anyone in.

I give it a month before we hear he's unhappy, two months before makes a tweet calling out NJPW for something and three months before he "retires".

I give it a week before the "Lio Rush leaves Chaos" thread. Wow, I never thought I'd see the day you were more cynical about something in wrestling than I am lol "wait and see"

I give it a month before we hear he's unhappy, two months before makes a tweet calling out NJPW for something and three months before he "retires". He's actually been doing NJPW shows in America for quite a while (and NJPWoA was the promotion for which he wrestled the most for last year) and only stopped during his "retirement"/hiatus between January and October. And being a Jr. Heavyweight foreigner, he'll probably only be brought sporadically for tournaments, title matches and a few other bigger matches, so it's not like he'll be "grinding" everyday in Japan and eat his mind away. I'd say at the very least he'll last until BOSJ next year and maybe a bit more if he doesn't get an IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title match before that.

I give it a week before the "Lio Rush leaves Chaos" thread. I was surprised he didn't retire by the time I opened this thread.

Is the ethos of Chaos basically 'lol, whoever' because I do not understand this shit at all They're sort of in a weird spot because their thing used to be, "Stable where everyone is trying to get big paydays and title belts" and they weren't very closely knit, with them being heels or tweeners. This was fine when Shinsuke Nakamura was their leader, or when it was heel Okada, but it got more muddied when the group became a face one, whereas now it just seems to be a bunch of people where only some of them are friends with each other, which is sort of harder to do with faces. Still, with LIJ having injury issues, and Suzuki-Gun being I guess tweeners most realistically since they're too fun to boo usually these days but still play at being unpleasant punks, CHAOS are just kind of generic good guys because they have beef with both Bullet Club and United Empire, the two main heel factions. CHAOS used to be some of Tanahashi's most fierce rivals, and now he just teams with them with no hesitation. At least LIJ still dislikes them and is slow to forgive them for their transgressions against them in the past, but it's difficult to pin down anything thematic about CHAOS these days outside of "Faces, some of whom are friends like Okada and YOSHI-HASHI, but most of them aren't." I at least get why Best Friends are in CHAOS, since Rocky Romero used to team with Beretta and they didn't really break up with acrimony when Roppongi Vice ended, but I'm more mystified by Rush joining.
