Lots of legendary wrestlers have moves that are now permanently named after them. Tiger suplex, Tombstone, Razor's Edge, Vader Bomb etc.
But what are the contenders for the lowest profile wrestler to have move named after them?
It amuses me to hear Japanese commentators calling a fameasser so I'm hoping there's a lower card example.

It seems like what you mean is wrestlers who named the move rather than the move being named after them? In which case my pick is Petey Williams

The Fame-asser was Marty Jannetty's Rocker Dropper first, and I think he is probably considered lower profile than Billy Gunn.

Depends on if you consider him low profile (by his WWE run he certainly was/WCW and overseas not so much) but I have always thought it was cool that the 2nd rope outside the ring moonsault was named after Ultimo Dragon... The Asai moonsault A real answer would probably be the mandible claw being named for Sam Sheppard still to this day. Dr. Sam Sheppard is most notable for being basis for "The Fugitive" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Sheppard

Gory Guerrero? (i.e. Gory bomb, Gory special etc.) I know he's a legend but I'm struggling to think of low profile guys.

Not sure how low profile he’s considered but Farooq with the dominator named after the Nation of Domination might be in consideration. That seems to be the accepted name for the move as far as I can tell. Can’t really think of any really low pro guys, you have to at least have some level of overness/fame to not only get a move named for/after you but then to have it stick as well.

I guess it depends on your frame of reference... in North America I don't think anyone could pick Johnny Ace out of a lineup if he had a nametag on, but he was well known in Japan... and he innovated one of the most popular moves in the Ace Crusher (aka. Diamond Cutter, RKO, Stone Cold Stunner, etc., etc., etc.).

Rings of Saturn (I’m positive they called it by the same name when Neville/PAC started using it in WWE) and the STO (I don’t think most people know what it even stands for & Ogawa wasn’t exactly super well known outside Japan)

Salvatore Sincere's finishing move was called "Sincerly Yours." Marc Mero called him a jobber, that's how low his profile was.

...and yet his driver is technically the second... ... because the driver is named after the region of Michinoku (that's the old Mutsu Province, part of current day Tohoku region), where Michinoku Pro is located and the owner of said promotion, The Great Sasuke, decided to name it that.

Lots of legendary wrestlers have moves that are now permanently named after them. Tiger suplex, Tombstone, Razor's Edge, Vader Bomb etc. "Tombstone" isn't actually named after Taker. It goes back to at least the 70s. There's a Japanese wrestling magazine from the 70s with Andre doing the move and it's referred to as a Tombstone, albeit spelled wrong.

The Fame-asser was Marty Jannetty's Rocker Dropper first, and I think he is probably considered lower profile than Billy Gunn. Rocker Dropper was slightly different in that Marty did it standing still and also grabbed an arm.

100 years from now, someone in wrestling will still probably be doing the Fargo Strut. Granted, that someone will likely still be Jeff Jarrett...

WCW had some f***ing guy called Reno who called the rolling cutter a Roll Of The Dice, and somehow that was the default name for that move for years afterwards.
