Honestly, more coherent than the first trailer for Death Stranding. Not saying a whole lot but progress?

Can't wait. The first game became one of my all time favourites.

will they remember to make the game fun this time... >_> Kojima: We have added in a brisk jog to our walking simulator I am glad some people enjoy the game... but fir me it really just felt like a really finely tuned game made with love... that's just utterly tedious to play. not to mention I always found that Kojima is the type of creative that needs a filter... or at the very least someone in the room to slap him and tell him no at some points in the creative process.

I usually finish Kojima games but I couldn't for DS, I should try again at some point but IDK, very curious to see how he handles a sequel here when Metal Gear's sequels had so many "god please let me not make another one of these" meta vibes lol

The first Death Stranding was perpetually at odds with itself as a game: what would've been an engrossing traversal sim was constantly undermined by tedious stealth, basic combat, incredibly disappointing boss battles, and technobabble infodumps that were long even by Kojima’s usual standards. That said, it was an intensely moving experience and the final level made me legit ugly cry. Not sure it needed a sequel but I'm willing to give Kojima the benefit of the doubt. Though I'll probably wait for reviews this time.

Kojima: We have added in a brisk jog to our walking simulator I am glad some people enjoy the game... but fir me it really just felt like a really finely tuned game made with love... that's just utterly tedious to play. not to mention I always found that Kojima is the type of creative that needs a filter... or at the very least someone in the room to slap him and tell him no at some points in the creative process. It is a game within a game like there is something there to enjoy but you got to get thru the slog to get there and even then you have the group who just enjoys the walking This is unapotgetically a Kojima product for better or worse

The first one's a game I've seen a good bit of - watched a good few livestreams of people playing it while talking about other things - but never actually played, and from what I've seen it seems like a mix of a story that's just kind of throwing things at the wall and gameplay that could not possibly be any more mindnumbingly dull. Maybe it works better hands-on but it's kind of always struck me just a giant, "What on earth is the appeal of this?"

I'm game for this. As someone who was never a big Kojima fan I genuinely enjoyed DS's gameplay despite not enjoying most of the story. Interested to see if he continues to make it a delivery simulator or if he goes balls out and makes it a completely different game in the same universe.

It's kind of hard to explain why I loved Death Stranding's gameplay but I enjoyed how unique and relaxing it was. I loved mapping out my journey ahead, making sure I had the right tools to get there. Traversing the desolate countryside was just so chill with your cargo rattling, your boots thudding against the ground and Low Roar playing. And it's a great feeling when you finally arrive at your destination after you've exhausted all of your supplies, your cargo is barely intact and your boots are about to fall to pieces. And then you stock up and do it all over again. It's not for everyone but I loved it.

The first game was so tedious that I quit after five hours.

I've been holding off buying it because I expect it to be a Plus game at some point, but it is sure hitting cheap now.
I don't know why I'd buy it though, I haven't stuck with playing a Kojima game through since MGS2.

I just can’t with the first one. I can’t imagine ever even trying this one.

That song is so rotten, even Coldplay would reject its melody. But there's a cute baby, that's a plus.

I could definitely see how this weird and unique game wasn’t for everybody, but I loved spending time with it. Once it was over and that Chvrches song played over the credits. Damn.

Is FedEx gonna sponsor this game so you’re rewarded for throwing your deliveries around?
