Because they can’t all be Cornette seamlessly transitioning to their sponsorship. Sometimes in fact the sponsors. And be she right bizarre and nerve grating. I don’t think anything can match the period we’re WWE was showing those starburst “berries and cream” ads and Enzyte ads about fifty times per broadcast. Though I suppose Global Force Gold has to rank up there too. Let’s hear more, the more obscure the better.

I find it annoying when JR was shilling skittles. It felt so forced when he was talking about how fruity they were.

Paragon Pro Wrestling was a short-lived indie promotion from 2014-2016. It stands out because it actually had paid TV on Pop TV before TNA/Impact Wrestling moved there.
It aired during graveyard hours. Their model was they would pay for their slot then sell commercial spots to reduce this cost. For a while their only sponsor was this spray that made the fire change colors for people who had fireplaces. Eventually they got at least one other sponsor though I’m blanking on what it was.
Also, this is just tangentially related because Ben, one of the hosts of Last Podcast on a the Left, is a huge wrestling fan. Anyway, the podcast did this multi-part series on a very evil cult tied to many cases of sexual abuse. Marcus, another one of the hosts had to make a super awkward transition to a spot, “Today’s sponsor, although it probably shouldn’t be, is Adam & Eve…”

Money is money and sponsors are sponsors but I always found it hilarious that when WWE was at it's most "adult"... it was advertising acne products to teenagers.

The anti-smoking ads from the late 90s.
It felt like Jerry Lawler had gone soft when he started doing plugs for Burger King.

"Promotional consideration is paid for by the following..."
Nothing like Alfred Hayes shilling a product to make it sound utterly unappealing.

I remember them plugging USA's other programming. Sometimes it could be done well, like in the early days when they would plug USA's original tv movies, and at the end, Heenan would make some wisecrack, but other times it was desperate. One time Todd Pettingill said that instead of switching to Monday Night Football when RAW was over, they should stay on USA and watch Silk Stalkings.

Anything that used the EEEEEEE midget as a spokesperson. His gimmick was that he would randomly burst out of something an average sized human could never fit in while screaming EEEEEEEEE, then deliver a monologue. I never knew his actual name. But for maybe a year, maybe a little less, in the late 90s he was in every other commercial. A phone company, I think it might've been Sprint, was using him as a spokesman when they were also a major WWF sponsor, and so we got to watch him pop out of a laundry tub screaming EEEEE, then slap a naked man on the ass and insult his genital size all while shilling a telecommunications company, over and over and over again.

I know they had some local sponsors, I remember a commercial spot for a pizza restaurant with Glenn Gilbertti and whoever he was managing at the time that was kinda funny. If their Youtube episodes are any indication, they also ran some of those helpline-type ads that show up on pretty much everything.

The anti-smoking ads from the late 90s. It felt like Jerry Lawler had gone soft when he started doing plugs for Burger King. Especially since early in his (WWF) career, he used to get riled up by fans chanting “Burger King” at him.

Cinnaburst with flavor crystals is up there for me as far as commercials that made me want to claw my face off because they aired them so incessantly. Milton Bradley Karate Fighters was pretty ridiculous as an actual named PPV sponsor.

Truth.com. I have the old TLC vhs tape (basically a tape focusing on the Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian, and the Dudleyz), and they have the same truth ad at the beginning and ending of the tape.

Remember when Sunday Night Heat started and they had a crossover with Pacific Blue and Mario Lopez?
