My cable system was the future Altice USA of Oakland, NJ. For a few years during the MONDAY Night Wars, my cable system had TNT on Channel 41 and USA on channel 42. It was as if they knew about the wrestl8ng war dur8ng this time and they probably did. Of course, WWE moved to the future Paramount Network in 2000 and judging by my research, Altice USA has that channel on channel 41.

Here in Canada, TSN aired both Raw and Nitro so Raw would air live at 8 central and Nitro on tape delay at 11 central

It has more to do with grouping similar channels together than anything specific to wrestling. TNT, TBS, and USA are three of the oldest general programming basic cable stations around.
Like I have Verizon Fios and USA is 50,TNT 51, and TBS 52. Fios didn't come into existence until well after WWF absorbed WCW and ECW. But it's also been this way well before AEW was even a twinkle in Tony Khan's eye.

Here in the Northern Virginia/D.C. area in the 90's TNT was channel 12, and USA channel 13. Also TBS was channel 15 or something like that

I had USA on 31 and TNT on 49.
BTW, this just brought back total nostalgia for me.

They aired replays in the afternoon until they got called out for questionable content. Raw would be 2-4 and Nitro 4-6 I think.

You must have been served by Cablevision of Cresskill, NJ (a different system than mine) because Nickelodeon was NEVER on channel 22 but on channel 21 but that was looooiing before Cablevision took over my system. I do know that Nick was on channel 22 on the Creskill system since my Aunt & Uncle lived there before moving. VH1 was never on channel 28 where I lived. VH1 wasn’t full time on my cable system until 1993 (before that it was shared part time with the future Paramount Network from 3a-9a. Yes, I’m serious.) except for a month in the late 90s when it was shared with Comedy Central, it’s been full time ever since. MTVand USA were never on channels 29 & 17 respectively but they were always full time. Up until 1991, TBS was on channel 17 (this dates back to the days when it had channel 17 in its branding. REMEMBER THOSE DAYS?)
