A couple months ago, I started thinking about how much I missed the quirky procedural dramas. And luckily I found out that Leverage was returning and I started watching that. Then I found out they had all the old episodes. And then I found that that channel also is Burn notice.
Man, it made me think: damn 2005 -2012 was a great period of tv for me
Nbc Thursdays in general Big bang theory Scrubs How I met your mother Bones Burn notice Leverage The mentalist Monk Psych Chuck
I went from reliving the tnbc years to basically reliving must see tv Thursdays

Late 80’s-late 90’s. Must See TV, TGIF, the Disney Afternoon, Kids WB, Fox Kids, ABC Saturday Mornings, the launch of Cartoon Network and the Sci Fi Channel, Nicktoons and Snick-it was a wonderful time to be a youngun.

Comedy - 90s Drama - 2004 (S3 of the wire) to 2014 (S4 of GoT). Not just for those. Other hbo shows and Breaking Bad. BBC had Life on Mars, peaky blinders, being human, Sherlock, David Tennant's era of Dr Who. Like you say shows like Bones and Chuck. The Americans started.

I would say two periods
90s TV as a kid was great. For all ages. When I was a small kid, there was stuff like Playdays, Fireman Sam, Zzzapp! Tots TV, Thomas the Tank.
Then, in the middle preteens, great NickToons -- Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Doug etc. As well as cartoon network -- Dexter's Lab, Cow and Chicken, Ed, Edd and Eddy.
Then late 90s, when I was 11/12, I had Kenan and Kel, Sabrina, Goosebumps, Are You Afraid of the Dark, not to mention Digimon and Pokemon and Sailor Moon.
As an adult--the time period when we had The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and more airing at around the same time was a great period. Think there was American Horror Story around that time frame too.

The 90s are #1: TGIF, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, the best episodes of The Simpsons and WWF Raw, WCW Nitro, Seinfeld, Friends, Home Improvement, Daria, Mad TV, etc.
The 60s are #2: The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, Batman, The Munsters, The Monkees, I Dream Of Jeannie, Star Trek, Gilligan's Island, The Addams Family, Get Smart, etc.

On the inverse: the late 200’s-early 2020’s were a least favorite time. Reality tv had lost it’s no empty but networks were still pumping them out. Sitcoms were virtually dead.Saturday morning cartoons began dying off as well. Adult Swim was full on transitioning to being just an anime block. Thanks to global events the doomsday 24 hour news cycle was dominating the airwaves. The Sci Fi channel became SeeFee. TV hadn’t yet started catering to my generation but the first signs were there.

TMNT The Super Mario Bros. Super Show Simpsons Cartoon Network's 90s programming block Duckman Beavis & Butt-Head Werid Science Salute Your Shorts (Donkeylips saying "Whoooa, power puke!" still makes me laugh to this day) Doug Rugrats Power Rangers The Weird Al Show Street Fighter Double Dragon Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm (these last three were guilty pleasures of mine growing up)

The only thing that always pops in my head is Comedy Central in the early 2000s. Daily show, Chappelle show, South Park, crank Yankers etc was my shit.

The Fox Network in the 90s was the equivalent to a sports dynasty. There was The X-Files, The Simpsons, Married With Children, Beverly Hills 90210, Martin, and New York Undercover to name a few. Then you factor in the license to air NFL coverage in acquiring the NFC package from CBS.
Over on Fox Kids, you had X-Men, Spiderman, Animaniacs, Bobby's World, Batman: TAS, & of course, Power Rangers at its peak in popularity. No wonder I gravitated to that channel as a kid.

1997-2004 is the most important, from Oz's debut to the Sopranos and The Wire hitting their stride HBO's edgy content pushed other networks to do the same and is probably the turning point for TV getting more critical acclaim and bigger fanbases than film.
