Where's the "I was done when Vince came back" option?

WWE could start putting on the absolute best show of all time and use its deep newly pockets to secure away all my faves and put on a wrestling show built from the ground up to appeal to me and only me, and I'm still not touching it for a second if it's Saudi-owned. No merch, no shows, no anything, I'm out for life. I've already been out for a few years and wanted to give it another chance but nah no f***ing way not if it's supporting the Saudi government adn their attemptsto get their fingers into entertainment. That's a prospect I can't rationalize with any of my values. I was out the second Vince returned but this is next level. This is life-long. One day Vince will croak but I don't think we're anywhere close to seeing the level of human rights abuses clear up in our lifetimes so nah f*** that.

I will always support the position that you dont affect change by isolating someone and telling them to change from an incredibly hypocritical ivory tower (when you consider how long it took for other countries nominally in 'the West' to change, or are still in the process of changing), and it works better when you engage and show how much better something can be.
Exposing people to something different, even if you own it, is still exposing people to something different - and you will then get change, even if it's gradual and takes a while.
As such, no, I don't think I'd be done just because of a Saudi ownership.
However, a Saudi ownership combined with Vince back in charge of creative - sure, that would be it for me, aside from the Rumble which I've watched every year since 1999 even when not watching WWE regularly for about a decade in there, and maybe NXT if it stays wacky and I can watch it without giving any money to Vince.

I’ll still watch classic stuff, but I don’t think I’m going to watch anything new this company has to offer.

I pretty much stopped watching a while ago when other priorities made it hard to watch but was still watching the big ppvs. I'll be done with those and I have all the physical media I would ever need from the era I loved watching so no need for Peacock, so not even supporting them that way.

I gave up watching WWE in April 2021 and a big part of me finally stopping was the Saudi partnership and all it entailed, so that should answer you if I'm going to go back lol.
Only shows I've watched since then are Summerslam '21, Rumble '22, Wrestlemania 38, Clash at the Castle, and a few NXT Takeovers and episodes. I expect my dealings with WWE to be even less if this Saudi takeover happens.

I’ll still watch classic stuff, but I don’t think I’m going to watch anything new this company has to offer. Please also don't spend any money on it. Don't pay for any subscriptions, there are other ways, like "friends with videotapes", nudge, nudge.

It's been a long-time thing with me; as a young teen circa 1999 I had a "@#$% Vince" phase after seeing Wrestling with Shadows for the first time and decided I didn't want to support WWF very much anymore; not that my own money was really going to them much, but I decided I wouldn't ask for my family to help me buy pay per views or whatever. I briefly got coaxed back in 2004 but again didn't want to spend any money on it, but the creative direction of the company and emerging alternative promotions had me out again by the start of 2005. I felt stronger in doing that because I always saw Vince as the guy who had the resources and *could* change the wrestling industry for the better, but refused to because things like the whole "independent contractor" charade lined his pockets, so not supporting him was always pretty easy for me.
And since then? Any time I even considered peeping the show again I'd get a big ol' pie in the face telling me to move along and go back to watching ROH/NJPW/indies/etc. The 2011 walkout angle, the 2014-2015 Rumble debacles, and biggest of all the Saudi shows...this just feels like the capstone to what had already been the trend and case with this company for years.
So yeah, I bailed ages ago, and this would seal a big time "never coming back, ever" for me.

Seriously bro, how is no one pointing at Vince Russo as the one behind this bro? It’s a swerve only he could have thought up, it’s got his fingerprints all over it bro.

Yeah never again. Bad booking is one thing but a gross elderly sexual predator and/or a bunch of literal murderers being in charge of the company is a bridge too far.

Haven't watched in about 4 years. Considered the possibility of coming back when Vince left, but nothing that was going on made me feel the need to tune back in. I honestly don't miss WWE at all and probably won't ever watch it again no matter who's in charge of it.
