By my count in terms of singles matches Cena / Orton and Undertaker / Kane have both happened 9 times on PPV and those were my most immediate instincts for what might take it.

I know it's not what really happened, but it sure did feel like Alberto Del Rio wrestled Sheamus about 14 times in a goddamn row on PPV

Managed to think of one that topped the ones I named, Orton / Triple H is at 10.

I honestly don't know the real answer here, but I feel like some sort of combination of New Day vs Usos is going to eventually be "the most" if it's not there already.

How many times did Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler face each other?

Flair/Sting must be up there somewhere I'd be shocked if they weren't.

How many times did Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler face each other? I believe most of their first to 1000 series was on TV.

Flair/Sting must be up there somewhere I'd be shocked if they weren't. Hogan vs Flair and Hogan vs Savage are also probably decently high.

I checked on Hogan / Flair and Triple H / Undertaker and both were around 6ish. I think for Savage / Hogan they only had three singles matches. Think Flair / Sting was four times.

I think Savage/Hogan feels like it ought to be higher because they also teamed a good amount of PPV, or were otherwise in each other's orbit while actual singles matches between them were fairly rare.

If we count more than just singles PPV matches, then Austin-Undertaker feels like it has to be up there.

Not singles but might as well try including multi-man matches too. Edge and Jeff Hardy have been in the same ppv match 25 times. That does include 3 Royal Rumbles.

Not as many as some but Dolph Ziggler has definitely has some repetition.
Only counting singles matches, Ziggler had 6 PPV matches with Kofi Kingston and 5 with Miz.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Triple H vs. The Rock. They had many one-on-one matches and were involved in multi-man matches from 1997 to 2000 all while moving up the card in the process.

Lesnar/Reigns must be getting up there. Counting Mania 31 they're at seven PPV singles matches. ... Less than I expected but still entirely too many.

If G1 counted along with major shows Okada and Tanahashi have to be way up there

I know it's not what really happened, but it sure did feel like Alberto Del Rio wrestled Sheamus about 14 times in a goddamn row on PPV The funny thing is, they only had three one-on-one matches on PPV. But there were at least two more PPVs where a one-on-one match was announced, but something else ended up happening on the show. That said, there were A LOT of Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio singles matches at house shows. More than enough to justify the meme.

On the women's side I think it might be Becky/Charlotte. They've had seven singles PPV matches (Royal Rumble 2016, HIAC 2018, Super Showdown, Evolution, Fastlane 2019, MITB, Survivor Series 2021), as well as being in several triple threats (WM 32, Summerslam 2018, TLC 2018, WM 35).
