Heya, I have a topic here that came up in my mind from checking out a video review of the latest John Cena Mattel figure recently and leaving confused by their choice of representation for a Ruthless Aggression era version of him. This is the first Cena in this Ruthless Aggression line by Mattel, which makes it even *more* strange: Does *anybody* ever think of this look for John Cena when they think of the Ruthless Aggression era of WWE? When it comes to iconic looks, or just memorable looks in general for the guy, you think of the throwback WWF logo stuff, you think of the John Deere or Pabst or the gazillion different color shirts, but…this? Ah yes, that i c o n i c Ruthless Aggression John Cena look…generic red shirt and camo hat. Well, I’ll leave the rest to you all. What are your picks for strange attires/looks to be immortalized in different media?

There was at least one WWE game- I think WWE '12 or '13- where they had a Christian model without wrist tape, despite the fact that I don't think I've ever seen Christian wrestle without wrist tape, even dating back to the Brood days.

I always wondered why No Mercy included an option for Steve Blackman in white tights.

Offhand there's SvR 2008 where Mysterio for some reason came out in a helmet I think he wore all of once ever.

Yokozuna's red and black hasbro figure has always bothered me since they swapped the usual color scheme

Not an attire but RVD's weird theme in SvR 07.

Roddy Piper’s Hasbro figure was from the very brief time that he wore red short tights. His LJN figure had red trunks, another very rare attire.
In a similar vein, I always wondered about the decision to put Higan in all red in the NES Wrestlemania game, when it would have probably made more sense to use all yellow.

Not an attire but RVD's weird theme in SvR 07. That theme was odd, it was on Wreckless Intent and he apparently used it at some house shows but it just never made it to TV. Wonder why they never gave it to anyone else, it's really odd in that I think it's a terrible fit for RVD but it'd make a great theme for someone else.

How about Kevin Owens having his brief US Champion attire and entrance graphics in 2K18.

This Ahmed Johnson figure. I'm not surprised this came up. An unusual attire is expected with it being from the STOMP line, but the choice of attire is very strange. Jakks made a few strange choices for BCA figures back in the day, like The Rock wearing long tights with "The Rock" covering one leg.

Gotta love plain blue tights Christian in SmackDown vs. Raw. Also shout out to I think it was WWE 12 where the masked Kane they put in as a make-good for how abysmal the servers were had two sleeves for some reason. It's not that he never wore that version of the outfit but it certainly wasn't what you'd expect.

Probably because it sounded too much like Rob Van Dam’s other themes (One Of A Kind and the original Invasion-era instrumental it was based on) to be re-used for someone else.

If I recall, there was a conflict between Christian and WWE over who owned "Captain Charisma".

The moment when it was apparent that Jakks no longer cared. They were lazy far before this point, but once they knew WWE signed with Martel, they just put out less and less effort.

Was going to theorize that was from when he did that Hot Tub Time Machine skit but looking he had red trunks in that one.

The first Ken Shamrock figure in 1997 had yellow kick pads and trim. I don't think Ken Shamrock ever wore yellow and certainly not that pronounced. Even as a kid it bothered me. I usually didn't buy duplicate figures, but as soon as they came out with a blue repaint a year later, I scooped it up.
