So this thread feels worth revisiting. I still think with the TNT title's whole gimmick being the open challenge, the quick changes don't bug me. That being said, and I said this Sunday, it was very obvious last week that the end goal was Hobbs winning the belt, I honestly would have just had him beat Joe especially since I don't think the match at Revolution really did a lot to help Wardlow.

I think when nearly every other title tends to have long, drawn out reigns (the only other title I'd say really seems to be bounce around a lot is the Trios belts), I feel like it's fine. It's supposed to be a workhorse title, it works better if there's a constant threat of losing it.

The title was of ill consequence for Wardlow
He needed to beat Joe and take his title which was what Joe cared about but Wardlow getting the tittle did nothing for him. He needs a reset but this is a good step up for Powerhouse Hobbs

It kind of feels like this episode really firmly established the hierarchy of the AEW belts.
World —-> International (IC/US) —-> TNT (TV)
Being that the TNT title is a de facto TV championship I don’t have a problem with it changing hands so often either.

Yeah, the quick change doesn't buck me since the title really doesn't matter It is Wardlow winning to quickly lose again that is the thing that is there. Winning the title did nothing for him and now he losses it. He needs to get away from the title after a lackluster semi long reign and really having no momentum right now

How many new TNT champions have we had since Dynamite went off the air tonight?
(I'm just messing.)

I'm all for frequent TNT changes but wasn't sure about giving Wardlow the belt on Sunday and having him lose it tonight. I thought that was too fast.
But, with the story of QT interfering and Wardlow's head not being in the game because of his car being broken into, it all works.
I hope Hobbs gets the chance to have a dominant run though. It doesn't have to be months on end, but he should see off several challengers before losing, I think.

I'm loving the chaos. I see no problem with this.

Take it to All Out if need be

Option 1: keep the title on Darby. Have Wardlow/Joe end their feud without the title involved. Have Hobbs absolutely massacre Darby to win the title.
Option 2: Have the title go from Joe to Darby to Joe to Wardlow in a span of like 8 weeks. Have Wardlow drop the title 3 days after winning it. Have Hobbs win the title by looking like he was about to lose, get help from QT, and win the title without even a pinfall or submission.
Khan made this WAY more complicated than it should have been, and literally none of those three (Joe, Wardlow, and Hobbs) came out looking better from it. This should have Hobbs' moment and it didn't have anywhere near the crowd buzz that usually comes with a homegrown talent winning their first title.

I prefer short reigns with this belt, with rarely someone having longer than a couple month reign.

I was fine with Darby getting the short reign especially with the win being in the debut show of his hometown. And I'll still say Joe and Darby did a lot to repair the TNT title. But yes end of day I think you have Hobbs just beat Joe for the belt.

You might also need to think about how much changed with Wardlow getting robbed They made the stipulation and then had the finish with QT with it being Falls Count Anywhere seemingly last minute, but it did all come together with what AEW set up before I also disagree that none of them have come out better for it. Darby had an amazing reign, Joe had killer matches and re-established himself, Wardlow won the war with Joe, and Hobbs got his first title win, even QT proved he would help Hobbs, he gave him his word Idk, I liked all of this, and I thought Hobbs got a good pop too

I mean maybe Wardlow’s whole car getting broken into was something he did. Wardlow is such a “mark” that he thought that if doesn’t have the belt he can’t lose it in a match.

What does this contribute to the conversation exactly? Not even sure what's funny One day title reigns are always funny. Additionally, "Does the TNT Title Change Hands Too Much" leading into a one day title reign. You're doing that thing you do. Recognize this as one of those moments that you should step away.
