Yo that is one of the best thread retitles ever.
It’s been a mess since the Sammy/Scorpio title switches. That sucks, cause for a long stretch of time, that was the best booked belt in any company (I thought).
The one bright spot was Joe’s “ king of television” era, but then you do all the switching..
Sigh. Hobbs has a chance, clean slate so to speak, for something to build on. I do not know if QT is the way, but when Hobbs has a lit crowd, he is a beast. He needs to find himself character wise to get to that level permanently. This could be a launchpad..tnt title might stop ho’ing it up for a bit.

Dare I say, with the 'levelling up' of it now as well, that the soon-to-be-called AEW International Championship is now seen as the second most prestigious male singles title in AEW?
Using old-NJPW logic myself:
NJPW Heavyweight title = AEW World title (top championship in the promotion) NJPW Intercontinental title= AEW International title (secondary championship, defended on big shows and international ones, used to give rising stars a run as champ before moving on to the main event) NEVER Openweight title= AEW TNT title (the hoss/strong style championship, always changing hands and never having dominant champions, open challenges, rookies and vets alike vying for it)
I wonder if a deemphasis of the TNT title is AEW's way of getting away from the fact that one of their main titles is named after a channel that may not even be hosting their show after the next tv-contract extension??

I think the TNT title being a NEVER or TV type title where you're more likely to get a title change than the others is fine. Short term feuds, kick ass matches, more frequent/surprising changes to offset the bigger me epic runs of the other seems a good idea to me.

I like having a title that changes hands frequently. Adds more intrigue to the TV defenses.

I don't think it has anything to do with the Turner relationship because the whole reason the AAC got "leveled up" was due to the relationship with Turner being so strong. They're at a point now where the roster can have 3 different tiers, any TV title (which is what the TNT Title functionally is) has to be on a lower tier than any other title in the pecking order because by its nature it has to be defended much more often than other championships. They were able to create narrative reasons for why it was happening besides the standard "TV Titles must be defended weekly" but there were too many guys in the upper-midcard who were too protected to be involved in the division but aren't world title worthy.

I am not sorry for the new title "The TNT Title got a weird ass Plate, B" That title done ran thru wild dudes and had mad BBLs (new title designs)

It’s more like it’s With the same guy, then leaves him for the new big hunky guy who shows up, then goes back to the first guy, then a new hunky guy shows up, and the cycle repeats itself.

At least Orange and the International Title are still out there as a symbol of a long and stable relationship.

Clearly the International title is now the number 2 title in the company. I don't mind having the title change hands a bit but I also don't think it was time to have Warlow get the title back

What the hell was the point of all of this? It hasn't done anybody (Wardlow, Hobbs) any favours

Clearly the International title is now the number 2 title in the company. I don't mind having the title change hands a bit but I also don't think it was time to have Warlow get the title back I’m just kind of bored with Wardlow vs. Insert heel here as the TNT Title feud. Also they’ve failed twice before yo give him a good reign as well. The Wrestletalk people said it well recently where there’s like 15-20 guys who FEEL like they should be going after that title. But instead it’s just Wardlow and whomever he’s facing. Also I don’t mind in theory the title changing a hands frequently. But the execution of it had been sloppy and it’s the ONLY belt that AEW does that with, which is odd.
