Mayfield staying in Tampa Good for him honestly. His career was on life support and then he showed a little something in that Rams stint and the Bucs took a chance, they were rewarded, that team overachieved. They can bring back "At Home with Baker Mayfield" and do wacky pirate themed hijinks for three years now if advertisers were smart... I’m pretty sure the “At Home with Baker Mayfield” series was exclusive to Cleveland as that company had its headquarters in Cleveland.

Mac Jones to Jacksonville for a “late draft pick” Most likely a sixth rounder. Mac Jones Is #AllElite Seriously, I hope he gets a chance for a fresh start. He wasn't the most talented but I still believe he can be a capable QB. The Pats made nearly mistake you can with a young QB. Although I also feel once Zappe played well in a couple of games Mac started looking over his shoulder and pressing, making more mistakes. The Pats had to let him go. Time for a fresh start all around. Hopefully they aren't doing this again in 3 years. Bill Belichick did seemingly everything in his power to ruin Mac Jones. In the end, it cost both of them their jobs. From the moment Jones was drafted back in 2021, there were rumblings that the selection was more of a Kraft production than a Belichick selection. But then something funny happened: Mac beat out Cam Newton in the pre-season to win the starting quarterback job, and then proceeded to have a phenomenal rookie season, finishing just behind Ja'Marr Chase for Offensive Rookie of the Year. And then Josh McDaniels left to coach the Raiders, and it all went to hell. Belichick decided to hand the offensive play-calling, and the nurturing of a developing quarterback, to two guys, neither of whom had any play-calling experience. The Matt Patricia/Joe Judge experiment will forever be a stain on Belichick's legacy, an idea that every single person but him knew was a bad one and was destined to fail. And then to make matters worse, Mac's most reliable receiver in 2021 - Kendrick Bourne - found himself in the doghouse for essentially the entire 2022 season. Then the Patriots opted not to re-sign Mac's most reliable receiver in 2022 - Jakobi Meyers - instead bringing JuJu Smith-Schuster in from free agency. So not only did Mac Jones enter 2023 with his third offensive play-caller in as many years, he also entered with one hand tied behind his back having virtually no reliable options at receiver. What Belichick did to Mac Jones over the past three seasons is tantamount to football malpractice. He had a solid developing young quarterback on a rookie contract and ruined him.

Oh most definitely the Jones era is over unless he takes some sort of massive leap this year. But the Gmen would be smart signing Russ, because he's willing to play on the vets min and have him and Jones duke it out and see who wins the starting role. If they both suck well there's always next year and a batch of brand new shiny QBs to draft The Giants shouldn’t sign Wilson. They would be much better served signing one of the top backup QBs that could serve as fringe starters to come in as competition for Jones. If Jacoby Brissett/Gardner Minshew II/Mason Rudolph can cause Jones to become the highest paid backup QB, that is just as well. At least those 3, even Brissett, are still young enough to potentially stick around until the team improves to playoff contention. Doesn't matter now obviously since he signed with the Steelers but I'd argue the reason you'd bring in Russ is the potential upside compared to the other guys you mentioned. Like those 3 guys best will never equal Russell's best. Granted his best is probably behind him but hell for the vets min he signed for its at least worth the gamble

It took ten minutes for the Bears to make a dumb free agent signing, agreeing to a 3 year/$24 million deal with D’Andre Swift, for some reason.

Not really what anyone expected

Granted his best is probably behind him but hell for the vets min he signed for its at least worth the gamble Here’s the thing: the best thing for the Giants is for Jones to actually develop enough to deserve that contract. The next best is for him to be beat out by someone who either will be able to stick around long enough for the team to rebuild or stink enough to draft a new QB. Wilson wasn’t going to allow either to happen. Jones could conceivably beat out Minshew in order to try to develop into a better QB. He wouldn’t beat out Russ. He’d lose to Russ, they’d turf him out, and Russ would limp along just long enough to keep them too good to draft a QB but not good enough to become legit contenders any time soon. He’d put them into purgatory.

Coming into this off-season, Kirk Cousins had made $231.6 million in total career earnings over 12 seasons. Let's see how much he adds to that with this four-year deal in Atlanta.

The Patriots are signing former Commanders running back Antonio Gibson, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Gibson will give the Patriots something they haven't had since James White was injured three games into the 2021 season: a pass-catching back.
Sure, they've checked down a lot to Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott over the past few years, but Gibson's best asset is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and make defenders miss. In his four years in Washington, Gibson caught 172 of his 213 targets for 1,283 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also had a 1,000-yard season in 2021, so it's not like he's exclusively a pass catcher, he can tote the rock as well.
I'm very pleased with this first signing for the Patriots.

Giants signed Jon Runyan Jr. to a 3 year deal. I'm disappointed about Barkley going to the Eagles, but they desperately needed O-Line help, especially on guard, and hopefully he works out.
Now they need an RB1. Still plenty of options out there including the newly released Aaron Jones, though I could also see Rodgers pushing for him to join the other NY team.
