Apple TV has released the first two episodes of "The Dynasty," a 10-part series about the New England Patriots of the 2000s. The first two episodes focus largely on the 2001 Patriots - the rise of Tom Brady, the quarterback controversy that emerged when Drew Bledsoe returned, the Snow Bowl - and if you're a Patriots fan, it's not really breaking any new ground. That said, it's well-done, it has interviews with every important key player in the Patriots' dynasty, and is probably a solid watch for any football fan, let alone fans of the Patriots. Aaaand it's gotten really bad, really quick. The show is called "The Dynasty." You know what they don't really discuss during the first four episodes? The actual dynasty. The first three episodes are about the 2001 season and what led to Super Bowl XXXVI and the Patriots' first championship in franchise history. They then totally gloss over the Patriots' Super Bowl championships in 2003 and 2004. There's maybe 90 seconds devoted to the entirety of the 2003 and 2004 seasons - when the Patriots established themselves as the premiere dominant franchise in the NFL. And then the fourth episode is all about Spygate, the 18-1 season, and Super Bowl XLII. It's just a baffling decision on the filmmakers' part. There were so many stories from those two seasons - trading Drew Bledsoe, Lawyer Milloy's release, "They hate their coach," bookending the season with 31-0 games against Bledsoe, Milloy, and the Buffalo Bills, the rivalry with the Colts, Brady vs. Manning, the 21-game win streak, the rivalry with the Steelers - and it's all ignored so they can go straight for the tabloid gossip. It would be like if there was a documentary made about the 2020s Chiefs, which devoted about two minutes to Super Bowls LVII and LVIII, but then spent an entire episode focused on the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. I'm not envisioning the show getting any better, because the remaining six episodes are about: Tom Brady's knee injury in 2008, Aaron Hernandez, Deflategate, Super Bowl LI (wow, an actual game!), Belichick vs. Brady, and the end of the dynasty.

I think we’ve had enough NFL FILM documentaries about the on field Patriots Dynasty so doing something more behind the scenes makes sense, I just don’t like how they’re doing. Insanely skewed, and not overly interesting

I think we’ve had enough NFL FILM documentaries about the on field Patriots Dynasty so doing something more behind the scenes makes sense, I just don’t like how they’re doing. Insanely skewed, and not overly interesting The biggest problem the first four - and presumably, last six - episodes is facing is Bill Belichick's complete indifference to providing anything resembling an inside look at the franchise. He looks like he's being interviewed at gunpoint. And that's because this was filmed while Belichick was still coaching the Patriots. He never gives an inch to the media out of fear/paranoia that it'll provide a tell to an opponent, so what good would it serve him to really break down why the Patriots lost to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, what Spygate meant to his legacy, or why his relationship with Tom Brady (who at that point was playing for the Buccaneers) deteriorated? And any story of the Patriots' dynasty needs to have Belichick's voice front and center, as he's arguably the most central figure of the era. If they really wanted this documentary to dig deep inside the franchise, they probably should have waited another five or so years, once all the key players were removed from the on-field product enough to be nostalgic for the dynasty years and to not be afraid to tell the truth. There's a reason "The Last Dance" was released in 2020 and not 2002. But instead what we're getting is a one-sided hack rush job that doesn't do a good job really unearthing new information about the Patriots' two decades of dominance and how it all came crashing down.

Despite having a horrible season and no first overall pick to show for it, Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has decided to raise the price of tickets by 4%.
I hate this guy.

The nerve of Hardman to talk shit like he is responsible for Chiefs being in the Super Bowl He also may have incriminated himself and thr Chiefs for tampering by speaking to their GM to get him traded back without the Jets consent. Also Idk how to link a tweet but our punter absolutely bodied him. "Be careful getting information from disgruntled former employees. Getting beat out by a rookie free agent after being guaranteed millions of dollars is tough to deal with. Entitlement is a killer of opportunity. You have to earn it every year."

He’s hardly the only Jet talking about Hardman. Two of his teammates have heavily hinted that Hardman leaked the Jets’ offensive plan to the Eagles before they played each other. I’m. Not sure Hardman isn’t becoming radioactive and will have his career end prematurely because teams don’t trust him enough to sign him.

KC loses all 2024 draft picks, and cap space cut in half. An example needs to be made.

Mecole Hardman has to be thinking to himself, "I caught the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, I can parlay that into autograph signings at small card stores and appearances at local car dealerships and be set for life!"
It's like Lucky in "King of the Hill" slipping on pee-pee at the Costco, getting a $53,000 settlement, and thinking he's never going to work another day in his life.

The typical punishment for interference is to take away the 1st rd pick of the offending team, maybe an additional mid round pick if they’re a repeat offender. Imagine losing a 1st over Mecole Hardman. Regarding Hardman himself, if he is proven to have leaked game plans then that is akin to trying to throw games, which should get the same punishment as gambling on games. Suspend him for at least a year while his salary still counts against the cap. The Chiefs will likely cut him and I doubt anyone looks to sign him when his suspension is over.

I wonder how much people hate the steelers, or at least hated them when they used to win playoff games. Brings up a good question: Which team is the most hated of all time, Steelers, Patriots, or Chiefs?

On the subject of Chiefs hate, the new Player Report Card is out, with Andy Reid’s leadership being the only high mark on that particular team. Dolphins were ranked #1 overall in player conditions with the Commanders dead last. nflpa.com/nfl-player-team-report-cards-2024

I've never understood the Cowboys hate I was 2 going on 3 the last time they won a superbowl so I didn't go through their dynasty and it's not like they've had huge playoff success since. So my question is why the hate? Is it literally just Jerry and the name brand recognition?
