At least by 1995 he warned Flair that if he turned on him, Sting would beat the hell out of him.
And of course, Flair turned on him, and Sting beat the hell out of him.

Always wonder why faces constantly fall for the same tricks every single time. It just makes them look idiotic instead of noble.
Batista not falling for them was a breath of fresh air.

Sting is the kid who will put his fist in front of his face and let the other guys try to pull on it so long as they really promise they won't let it go this time.

Because WCW ran stories into the ground. For his faults as booker, Dusty got grief from the Horsemen because they felt he was downplaying them, but, they'd been on top for ages and the returns were diminishing. I do wonder if, in addition to mainstream attention, Hogan brought buyrates up because it was just something new, even if top face Hogan was cheesy as hell.

I think Steve Austin not falling for them was also good but Batista in the mid 2000s I think did it almost just as good if not better.

They kept reaching back to their JCP glory days. The Horsemen should have been put out to pasture when Arn and Tully left, and Flair should have never been elevated to top dog again after he came back in '93. Controversial opinion maybe, but I liked the Dangerous Alliance more than any version of the Horsemen, and a world title scene with Sting-Rude-Luger-Simmons-Vader might not have been raking in big PPV buy rates, but it was at least something new.

I don't even mind Flair being in the mix, or the Horsemen, even. It just got tedious when he had a stranglehold on it.

Because he was a hero, and in those days the heroes were good and trusting and always saw the best in people.
And taking falls in the ring gives you memory loss.

I think the apex of Sting being a naive too forgiving dumbass is when he was the only guy to trust Lex Luger and constantly giving him the benefit of the doubt when Luger returned to WCW in 95. Despite the fact that the last time Luger was in WCW he had paid off Cactus Jack and Abdullah the Butcher to injure him and end his career and then even attacked himself while going after his surgically repaired knee. Yet when Luger returns Sting is all like "Why don't you trust the Total Package? He's a great guy. He really is."

Yet when Luger returns Sting is all like "Why don't you trust the Total Package? He's a great guy. He really is." I feel 95% certain that this happened because nobody in WCW, including Sting and Luger, could be bothered to remember an angle from nearly four years earlier.
