It's like people change as they mature and grow up or something. Ahsoka changed a lot between the beginning of Clone Wars and the end of Clone Wars. And changed a lot from there to Rebels. Sabine grew up a lot between the beginning and end of Rebels, too. Like Sabine was 17 at the start of Rebels. She's like 30 in Ahsoka.
I never watched the cartoons. Fact is -- Ahsoka and Sabine are, so far, just dull and boring. And judging by many comments online, I'm not the onyl one to think that, The average viewer isn't going to think, "oh she surely must have been different in that kid's cartoon I never watched." They're just going to think, "wow, this Ahsoka character is a complete drag" and tune out. And she is an utter drag and devoid of anything resembling a personality. Sabine too. I haven't seen Ep 2 yet, but they need to add somebody fun to the cast to counterbalance the dullness of the two leads.

Ahsoka's appearance in the Mandalorian was 3 years ago.
Not to mention Disney+ having "Essential Ahsoka Episodes" and the loke listed on their Star Wars page.
Not using the time to catch up on Clone Wars and Rebels and being "lost" is entirely your own fault.

Disagree Many adults don't like or watch cartoons, or if they do don't have the time to sit through 133 episodes of Clone Wars or 75 episodes of Rebels before watching Ahsoka. Make it accessible for everyone. I actually haven't had any problem following it myself. I don't know who some of the characters referenced are, but the show did enough to establish they are important--like Thrawn, the last grand admiral of the Empire who survived. Ok, that's enough to show he is a big deal. But saying "WaTcH tHe CaRtOoNs" is idiotic. It's a TV series, which of course people who don't watch cartoons (and again, outside of Reddit and the internet--the vast majority of adults don't watch cartoons) are going to tune in and watch.

Disney has made every Star Wars movie and TV show available on their service. They have lists on said service recommending episodes to watch so no one gets lost. They have lists on their various social medias of what to watch so no one gets lost. They have compilations on their various YouTube channels if watching episodes is too much so no one gets lost. Not to mention the countless Star Wars bloggers making videos recapping everything just to be digestible to someone who refuses to watch the shows. They've done everything except send Feloni to their home and tell them everything himself. If you make no effort after all that, that's on you and no one else.

"Here's Iron Man, folks---make sure to read Secret Wars from 1984 and Micheline's run in the 1970s or you won't understand what the f*** is going on. They're all on our website, hop to it!" The MCU would never have taken off

Which is the point of an extended universe. Again, your own fault.

Episode 2 was better
I like the subplot that Sabine sucks as a Jedi and is a failure who has no natural gift or talent with the force. Great--that is interesting. Honestly, that should be the show's main focus rather than Ahsoka who still managed to be a wet blanket.
The droids show more emotion and personality than the two leads, which is worrying. But at least now Sabine has something in the fact she sucks as a Jedi and needs to overcome that--great, I actually look forward to seeing how that pans out.

On the bright side I liked episode 3!
I don't know if they are filmed in order, but the actress playing Sabine seems to be finding her sea legs and it really feels that we are on an adventure now!

Well that ending was something. {Spoiler}Ahsoka and Anakin meeting in the World Between Worlds! {Spoiler}Even as someone who rags on the guy for his abysmal acting in the prequels (while acknowledging that most of the blame lies with Lucas' screenwriting and direction), it's good to see Christensen getting as much love from Star Wars fans as he has been the last couple of years.

Yeah her performance was rough especially in the first episode. But in this one she seemed way more comfortable, much improved

Decided to wait and watch eps 3+4 together. Don't know I'll be able to hold off watching ep5 right away next Wednesday! {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I really enjoy the trio of villains. Each a different flavour and style, with Baylan the most affable.
Credit, too, for having Sabine hand over the map device to him. Didn't do the standard hero thing, or even the hero thing fake-out handover, they stuck to what her character would want even if flawed. Thinking of Ahsoka's wrong thing for the right reasons mindset here.
And considering World Between Worlds was one of my favourites from the SW Rebels marathon I did before this show, it was great to see it and offers great possibilities. And hello there, Slightly Creepy CGI Anakin! Hey, it runs in the Skywalker line, no problem. If that is a post-ROTJ Anakin spirit, what an amazing opportunity to not only delve into Ahsoka's probably complex reactions towards him, but also Anakin's mindset in the Force afterlife.
Good space battle, good lightsabre fights, well paced, funny bits, and good plot developments. Nice.

Yeah, that was fantastic. This show's really hitting its stride after a bit of a stilted start.
It paid homage to the past in such a graceful and inclusive way. And I enjoyed how ambiguous the situation and motivations were.

Welp. {Spoiler}Thrawn I here! Ezra is here! And I’m going to go out on a limb especially that Ray Stevenson passed away that by the end Shin Hati ends up joining the good guys. She seems to question the shit going down more and more.
