LOOK WHAT THIS f***ING GUY BILL GOLDBERG DOES! Fixed to make it sound more like Bret. One time Little Mean Doo Doo corrected me and I never f***ing forgave him. I f***ing slandered him to Dave Meltzer so many times. Sean Ross Sapp, call me brother, I'll say the most unprofessional things about this guy, pretend to bury the hatchet to his face, and then rip his ass in the dirt sheets again.

Just weird because when it happened Asuka said she respected Goldberg and he tweeted back that the “streak” was in good hands and congratulated her.

Goldberg mad at Asuka but tbf I'm still mad at Goldberg for ending the career of one of the goat, and then doubling downing on injuring folk in interviews shortly after.

There’s speculation that he wasn't the one who actually tweeted that. That an agent or WWE PR did. Hell, there's a lot of speculation that Goldberg is railing against WWE so much because he wants an AEW deal so he can have a "real" retirement run (similar to Sting). Which if so, please do not do it Tony.

2002 was when I started watching again and Edge was using the spear as his main finisher. Confused me when he didnt have it as a finisher in the Smackdown games. Still had his DDTs. In 2002 Edge was using the Edgecution as his main finisher. The spear became his finisher even he returned in 2002.

Goldberg can have his streak back if he legally changes his name to Billy Willy.
He still has to wrestle Bill DeMott though.

Goldberg has always been a mark. In WCW he didn't want to put over Scott Steiner because he thought that Steiner couldn't beat him a real fight. I don’t know about late period Poppa Pump…but early 90s Steiner would have had his dick in the dirt and just giving him mat burn on his face for as long as he felt like keeping him there. It’s pretty amusing that Goldberg actually thinks that he can fight for real. If there was ever a dude that needed to be in there with Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody to just get worked over it’s this wanker. Thing is even if Goldberg was able to beat Steiner in a real fight, it's a f***ing stupid mindset. Because by that logic Haku/Meng should be world champion because for all time no one could legit beat him in real life.

My problem with Asuka’s early booking was that she forfeited the NXT title and thus no one from NXT got the rub of ending her run there, went to the main roster, won the Rumble and stayed undefeated but going 50/50 at best with all of her opponents no matter what, going 50/50 was exactly how she was booked in NXT too. She went 50/50 with green as hell Dana Brooke in one of her first feuds. She wasn't mowing opponents down save for like 2 jobber squashes. she just weathered the storm and picked her shot to win. In order to keep her streak going, she cheated to beat Ember Moon, twice

And all of this doesn't even matter as technically Asuka was never undefeated in NXT. I know no one counts Battle Royals, as she wasn't pinned, but she did lose to Carmella. And if she didn't win the match, she lost. So, this whole thing is a waste of time. Battle royals have never, ever counted as traditional win/loss matches. It's an over the top rope contest. You don't win a battle royal by pin or submission. That's literally not a loss in any way.

Yeah, he was probably more famous for spears going back to his rookie WWF year in '98 as the visual with his hair looked incredible. But i can't remember how many years it took to make that his actual finisher. I want to say it was during the critically derided face return run of 2004 and just something that stuck around despite all the tweeks he'd have over the next 18 months or so before becoming the "ultimate opportunist rated r superstar." In 2002 I think he suffered from the same thing Mr Kennedy did in 2006/2007ish where he just kept changing finishers so one didn't get seen as his like *finisher* finisher. There was the Edgecution, the Edgeamatic, etc. But it was always the spear that was the most memorable part of the match despite it not being the end.

Yeah, I mean one of the biggest spots from the Ladder matches was Edge doing the spear off the ladder onto a dangling Jeff.

And going back further, even pre-E&C/Hardyz ladder match, the big spot in the Summerslam 99 tag team turmoil was Edge spearing someone as they both were midair jumping from the guardrail.

Hell, bringing it back around to Edge and ladder matches, he lost Money in the Bank at Mania 23 but they still pushed Mania 24 around him and Taker both being undefeated.
Also even if you count the Asuka battle royal thing that happened two months into her time in the company and she went undefeated for an additional two years and change after that, it's still impressive anyway.

OK, but those are your personal records. Entire rest of the world disagrees with you and knows that they don't, therefore your objection to saying she was undefeated is needlessly prescriptivist with no basis in actual reality and, frankly wrong. Thanks for playing.

Thanks for playing. Hey, drop the attitude, please. No need for it. And for what it’s worth, I disagree with you. A battle royal is definitely a proper match, and should be treated as such. The wrestlers take 99% of the same bumps that they would in a match that ended in a pin or a submission for a start (if they happen to last long enough for there to be room in the ring for it). Sure, being thrown over the top rope isn’t a definitive statement of superiority the same way that a pin or a submission is, and nobody really does treat it as such, but to say it shouldn’t count for record-keeping purposes doesn’t sit right with me. Because where does it stop? Royal Rumbles don’t count? What about table matches? Ladder matches? Casket matches?
